Donate to the Annual Fund

Just 2 weeks left and $70,000 to go!

Thank you to everyone who has donated to the GHS PTSA Annual Fund thus far. With your generosity, we have raised $180,000 and we are getting closer to our goal.

With $70,000 more to raise and a few weeks left in the campaign, we are asking our community to help in the final push. Donations in any amount matter - even just $20 makes a difference and brings us closer to ensuring strong programs and support for all Garfield students.

Donations to the Annual Fund directly benefit every Garfield student by helping prevent teacher cuts and by supporting college preparation programs, student clubs, the arts, photography and library resources, the athletic trainer, and a safe and sober graduation night celebration. These investments make a real difference in the daily experience of our students and the strength of our school community.

Thank you for making a difference for a GHS Bulldog by donating today!

Reclaiming the Village:

4th Meeting Feb 14

On February 14th from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm in the Garfield High School Commons, there will be the 4th installment of the Reclaiming the Village series. This powerful and important series addresses the needs of Black students at Garfield. Black students and their families, community experts and providers, mental health specialists, SPS District employees, and Garfield Alumni have all been engaging in open and honest dialogues about academics, educational disparities, gentrification, mental health, safety, and many other important topics in the previous series.

In the next meeting, we are hoping to build off the diverse ideas and solutions that were brought to the table, offering tangible solutions and a path moving forward, in order to support the Black students at Garfield. We are inviting all Black families that have students at Garfield, in addition to the village that surrounds them: community members, Garfield alumni, teachers, etc. to support putting these various ideas and visions into action.

RSVP here.

Help Needed from Sophomore and Junior Parents

Help plan a fun and safe Grad Night Party for the Class of 2026! Typically a “pay it forward” volunteer event which relies primarily on sophomore and junior parents.

3-4 more parents are needed for the Grad Night planning committee!  A professional event planning company does most of the work but GHS Parents are needed to ensure a smooth, fun, safe all-night party for 2026 grads.

Class of 2026 Grad Night Party will take place on Tuesday June 16 in the evening, after the graduation ceremony. Grad Night co-chairs Kathleen Judd and Karin Zaugg-Black are looking for volunteers for the following roles:

* Recruiting and coordination of chaperones for the event (20 chaperones needed)

* Event promotion (at GHS)

* Student Registration support

* Purchasing items for the event

Parents from ALL classes are encouraged to join the Grad Night planning committee Email us at gradnight@garfieldptsa.org to volunteer or ask questions. Read more here.
