We are perhaps at our highest point of content oversaturation in history. It’s integral to every company, every app, every tool. And it’s being churned out faster than ever thanks to AI.
When you’re trying to break through the content fatigue and reach your key audiences, there’s one strategy that's been standing out in recent months—and it’s the strategy you should embrace for summer marketing outreach.
And that’s: Be useful.
Create content that meets people where they are and anticipates their interests and needs. Give them items that they can bookmark and refer back to; consider what will be helpful to them in their next steps, not just right now.
For example:
- Checklists
- Quick tips
- Behind-the-scenes insights
- Demonstrations
- Recommendations
- Teasers (for example, “Save the Date”)

Here’s what’s most important: Don’t try to sell anything in these outreach efforts. Think of this as a conversation starter or relationship nurturing tool. Allow people to see how helpful and necessary your content is—and this will keep them connected to your brand for those times when your products and services are most relevant to them.
When all your outreach does is sell, sell, sell, people will quickly mute it. But loyalty is built when you acknowledge your potential clients and customers as real people who also enjoy information, education, awareness, and assistance from your expertise, even when they’re not about to hit the checkout lane. When you show that you see them, they’ll see you. Everyone gets to enjoy the relationship fully and continue to build it.
And, we get it: Not every company lends itself well to “useful” content. If you’re a bakery, it makes sense to share shopping lists and recipes. But if you’re a consultant or generalist, those ideas might feel a little less obvious and ready-made. For ideas on useful communications that make sense for you, specifically, we’re happy to help you define your strategy and start crafting some compelling and save-worthy content.

This month, members of the Mad 4 Marketing team had the opportunity to volunteer at IPW 2026, the travel industry's premier international marketplace.
IPW brings together destinations, hotels, attractions, and tourism professionals from around the world to build connections and drive future travel. As an agency with many clients in the tourism and hospitality space, it was exciting to see Greater Fort Lauderdale showcased on a global stage and to play a small role in welcoming attendees to our community.
We're proud to support an industry that contributes so much to our local economy and look forward to seeing the partnerships and opportunities that grow from this year's event.

Why Marketing Agencies Keep Talking About 'Owned Audiences'
We cringe when we hear the phrase “owned audience.” People don’t own others, and businesses certainly don’t own people. But we can dislike the clunky term and still embrace its place in today’s marketing ecosystem.
First, let’s talk about what people actually mean when they say... Read more.
