DECAL CDA Scholarship

Who can apply: Georgia early childhood professionals who meet eligibility requirements, including:

Work 30+ hours/week in a qualifying program (or 15+ hours/week in a DECAL-licensed after-school program)
Have 6+ months of continuous paid employment in an eligible role (Teacher, Assistant Teacher, Floater, Director, Assistant Director, Owner)
Have a high school diploma or GED
Are on track to complete 120 hours of CDA training and 480 clock hours before scheduling the CDA assessment

Fun Corner: Giggles + Good Vibes

What fun classroom ideas can we do this week? 💘🎨

1) “Kindness Chain” (All ages)

-Cut paper strips.

-Each time you catch a kind act, write it on a strip: “Jayden helped clean up.”

-Link them together and watch the chain grow all month!

2) “Heart Beat Dance Break” (Toddlers + Preschool)

Put on a song and do:

-10 marches

-10 claps

-5 deep breaths

Say: “We’re helping our hearts feel calm and strong.” ❤️

3) “Community Helpers Valentine” (Preschool + School Age)

Have kids make simple thank-you cards for a local helper (librarian, mail carrier, cafeteria staff, etc.). Kids love doing “real” kindness.
