In a few more days, I will no longer be your youth minister.
The reality of that still hasn't set in yet, though. At least, it hasn't for me. Has it set in for you?
Before long, I won't be sending you all those annoying GroupMe texts, reminding you of Sunday School or Rite 13. I won't be scheduling Six Flags trips or even sending these newsletters (which I know go to your parents and not you. So please share this with your kids!).
All of this makes me quite sad.
I have loved being your youth minister, and I am going to miss you more than you know.
But life changes.
New challenges and opportunities are routinely thrown our way. But you know all that. And if you don't, you will soon. After all, it won't be long before to you prepare for college or work; it won't be long until you set out for other places (not better; never better. Just different).
I want you to know that I wish all the best for you in the years ahead. And while I don't want to impose on your next youth minister's work, you can always reach out and let me know what's going on. I would love that.
Love,
Sam
