Help Clothe God's Smallest Sheep This Winter
Warm clothes needed at Aldrin Elementary School
Kids at Aldrin Elementary School in Reston asked us for gently used or new winter coats, gloves, and hats: sizes 5/6 - adult medium (with more need for larger sizes). Aldrin Elementary has 69 students qualifying for free or reduced-price meals. In November, temperatures will drop to 42 degrees or lower during the morning commute, so we are hosting quick “mini drives” to get coats just in time.
Let’s be the logistical arms of Jesus and host a group of mini coat drives to share Aldrin Elementary’s request with others who might like the opportunity to participate. Can you take a flyer and post it at your workplace? In your neighbors' mailboxes? Bring it to soccer or dance practice?
Please bring donations back to Epiphany by Sunday, 11/15.

Celebrate Epiphany!
Tell us your (short!) story!
During our season of Stewardship awareness, Epiphany would like to record member testimonials. Jennifer and Jeff will be available after service on Oct 25 in the fellowship room to film short testimonials (1- 2 minutes in length). Come share a story about one or more of the following questions:
- What does Epiphany church mean to you?
- What does stewardship mean to you?
- What is an example of a time you had a palpable sense of God’s loving presence at Epiphany?
- How have you benefited from the church's ministries and resources?
- Tell us about a ministry you’ve served in or led, and how it was meaningful to your understanding of God in your life and at Epiphany.
- Why are stewardship and service in the church important to you?

Food4Thought Needs Your Ideas!
Hunters Woods Elementary asked us to support 25 vegetarian bags each month. We need everyone's collective creativity and keen grocery-shopping eyes to help us identify healthy, easy-to-prepare, shelf-stable, and cost-effective options. Could you spare a moment on your next grocery trip to browse the aisles looking for a vegetarian substitute for a hearty stew (~$2.48) and tuna salad kits (~$1.20)?
Email Liz a picture with the item and price, and she’ll compile the ideas for the team to discuss and select an option (esgoff218@gmail.com).

Honoring Marilyn Reardon
Between now and November 15, we are accepting donations to honor Marilyn Reardon. A small committee has formed, including Epiphany representatives and people from her teaching days. We hope to collect enough donations for several projects, including:
* a plaque dedicating the garden in the Door 2 courtyard to her memory
* flowers for All Saints' Sunday
Depending on the donations collected, the committee has specified that any additional funds will support one or more of her passions: Shrine Mont, children, and learning.
Donations can be made to Epiphany Episcopal Church, specifying "Honoring Marilyn." If you have any questions, please contact the church office: churchoffice@epiphanyec.org.

Fall Series: Yoga and Your Health
Have you heard it said that Life is Breath? Or To Move is to Live?
Breath and movement connect our mind and body. How we breathe and move can transform how we respond to our inner and outer world, and to the positive and negative stressors we experience. Join Eleanor Ware, LCSW, RYT 500, and Dr. Pam Shields, PT, RYT 200, for a four-session Fall Series on Yoga and Your Health. In this series, we will explore how breath, combined with movement and posture, can reduce physiological signs of stress in our lives and also improve our sense of well-being. You'll have the opportunity to track your physiological response before and after each Yoga session by measuring blood pressure, heart rate, and respiratory rate. Each Yoga session lasts 75 minutes and is suitable for all body types and experience levels.
We hope you will join us for this special Yoga series on October 24, 31, and Nov 7 at 10am in the church sanctuary. Bring a mat and a small blanket or towel to each session. We will also have a few mats and blankets available if needed so everyone feels welcome to participate. Attending the series is free, and we encourage you to share this invitation with friends and family.
Send your questions by emailing Eleanor here or by emailing Pam here.

Food 4 Thought
In our thoughts and hearts
Do you like scavenger hunts? Carry a flyer from our Food4Thought box located on your way into/out of the nave in your hand and heart next time you go grocery shopping. If you have kids, see who can spot the item first. Help us ensure students at Hunters Woods Elementary aren't scavenging empty cabinets on the weekend. Donations (and the cards) can be dropped off in the wood box in the narthex. We especially need donations of shelf stable milk, chunky beef stews, and chicken and tuna salad kits.

Ministry Corner
Missional Engagement
Are you looking for a way to get involved in a ministry at Epiphany? Explore many ways to get involved with our Missional Engagement (traditionally called Outreach) commitments. Focused on addressing food and housing insecurity, we are actively exploring ways to engage more fully with these issues. We engage strongly in “downstream” issues, providing food and housing as needed. We are beginning to discern how we can look “upstream” to address the “causes of the causes” for food and housing insecurity. Click here to learn more about Missional Engagement.
