Driving Future Growth: Scaling Innovation in Automotive, Mobility & Industry

Our Automotive & Mobility Forum on April 29th brought together leaders from across the German American business community at the new Hudson Yards office of our member KPMG.

As one of our long-standing signature events, this year’s forum highlighted the pace of transformation across the automotive and mobility sectors.

In his keynote, Hugh Nguyen, National Leader Automotive Technology and Mobility at KPMG, set the stage by outlining how innovation is scaling across the industry, from emerging technologies to real-world implementation.

The discussion then continued with an engaging panel featuring:

  • Dave Chambers | VP Finance/CFO | Jaguar Land Rover North America
  • Virginie Maillard | Global Head of Research in Simulation & Digital Twin, Head of US Research and Pre-development | Siemens Foundational Technologies
  • Adam Manchester | Director North America Automotive & Mobility | Celonis

Moderated by Hugh Nguyen, the panel explored how AI, autonomy, and software-defined systems are moving beyond pilot phases, and how electrification and smart manufacturing are reshaping supply chains and production models.

A key theme throughout the evening was the importance of transatlantic collaboration in driving next-generation mobility solutions.

Thank you to our host KPMG LLC for welcoming us into their new space and to all speakers and participants for making the evening a success!

STEP USA Alumni Event

Thank you to all participants of the STEP USA Alumni Event on April 29th in Munich. The event once again demonstrated just how valuable the exchange within the STEP USA startup community is.

The highlight of the event was the panel discussion moderated by Dietmar Rieg, focusing on our alumni’s practical experiences entering the U.S. market - from key success factors to typical challenges:

  • Philipp Schreiber | KRUU
  • Miguel Bravo Cabrera | Digity
  • Chriz Jungfleisch | Shapes

Special thanks go to James N. Miller, Consul General of the U.S. Consulate General in Munich, for his opening remarks and support of transatlantic dialogue.

Andy Goldstein provided important insights with his assessments of U.S. investments and highlighted what matters in the current U.S. market environment.

In addition to the substantive insights, the event offered numerous opportunities for networking with investors, partners, and U.S. experts - a central component of the STEP USA program.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to KPMG Deutschland for hosting the event and for the excellent collaboration.

We look forward to further expanding the STEP community and providing additional insights into our new STEP USA 2.0 program shortly.
