Weather Notice: As of Thursday, April 2nd, the weather forecast shows a decent chance for rain on April 11th. The forecast can change daily, so hopefully, this weather pattern shifts to give us a nice morning. Unfortunately, we cannot have a makeup day due to scheduling.

Let us know you are coming! We will be doing our best to make sure there are enough plants for all who wish to join us.

Save the dates!

There will be a community event on June 5th from 3-5pm to celebrate the new pool season. See all the fun pool updates below.

The Reading Ready Book Tour is coming back to Emory Crossing June 15-17th from 9 to 12pm!

Wasp Season

Check under tables, benches, play equipment. They seem to be building lower to the ground this year.

Please report any active nests to the office. Wasps are treated throughout the week. However, most nests are very tiny, so it is possible some were missed.

Pest control is monthly. Please email or text pictures with a location.

Amenity Access

Check that your access is up-to-date. There was an update last year that messed up some user's access. Test the app on the pavilion restrooms.

If you have never had access, got a new phone, or are having other issues with your current access, please submit a request HERE.

Pool

Coming soon - new shade structures near the back of the pool. We are also working on making some deck repairs from the snow/ice storm.

Here's a reminder of the pool rules. Pool season opens May 1st!

The pool event has been moved to June to allow for more participation since school will have let out.

What is Emory Crossing missing....?

Our own Hippo!

Coming soon, we will have our own hippo near the butterfly garden.

He (or she?) doesn't have a name yet, so we will need to have a fun little contest to figure that out. Start thinking of all your ideas to submit soon!

Spring is here!

The weeds are getting out of control in the residential yards. Treat these ASAP with a post-emergent or pull them. Help keep Emory Crossing looking sharp - take care of your property. If you lack equipment, check with the City's loan program. Information is below.

Our landscaper has provided a guide to help you plan when you need to tackle certain tasks.

See last year's newsletter for relevant tips.

Native Milkweed

HEB is officially a source to find native milkweed. After checking with local nurseries, you may also find native milkweed at Green Sleeves in Pflugerville. Snoopers will not carry it.

Do not plant Tropical Milkweed. This is junk food for the monarchs and does not allow them to properly migrate. Let's save the monarchs and only plant native!

Landscaping Tips & Tricks

Weeds in the Rocks & Yard - Spray a post emergent &/or pull these weeds and grasses out of the rocks.

Aster Weed - Pull this weed before it gets out of control.

Nutsedge Weed - Treat with SedgeHammer. Do not pull. It will spread.

Tree Pruning - All trees should be worked up to a 6-8' canopy base as the tree matures. If the tree is along a sidewalk, they need to be pruned up to 14'.

Fence Stain - Approved color is Wood Defender, Color: 200 Series, Semi-Transparent Sierra.

Dead Trees - Must be replaced with the same species, unless otherwise approved.

Trash/Recycling Bins - Store them out of view when it is not trash day. If you have an alley, you may store them on the driveway near the garage door.

Parking - Commercial vehicles are prohibited. Registration must be showing at all time. No car covers or expired registration is permitted. Do not park in fire lanes at any time.

Alleyways continue to be an issue. Do not drive against traffic.

This is a handy little tool for pulling weeds. It is only about $5-10 at our local hardware stores. Wet the lawn, gentle press tool vertically next to the weed, loosen the dirt, then you should be able to remove the weed - root and all - by tilting the tool towards the weed.

SedgeHammer is for nutsedge - a weed you should not pull. The nut stays in the ground and makes this weed spread. This is a selective herbicide, so it won't harm your healthy sod near by.

BUURT - Your New Resident Portal

To make managing your association account simpler and more convenient, we recently introduced BUURT, our new resident portal, which is your one-stop shop where you can pay assessments, review your account details, and stay informed about your community.

With secure single sign-on, you no longer need to visit multiple websites or keep track of multiple passwords. Once you’re logged in, you can easily:

  • Make payments directly through Western Alliance Bank (also known as Alliance Association Bank or AAB)
  • View your account balance and transaction history
  • Review your property's open compliance
  • Access important association documents

We’re excited to share that almost 100 residents have already logged in and explored the new system! While you can continue to use your previous payment methods for your assessments, we encourage you to take advantage of the new system for all digital payments.
