"Loving Your Neighbor on November 4th" | | |
November 4th may be one of the most difficult days to love our neighbors that we have ever faced. So, I am thankful that this Sunday we will remember the faithful lives of those who have gone before us to show us the way. These saints too faced difficult days and still managed to remain faithful. Like many of you, I am tired of the cruelty, the racism, the sexism, the homophobia, the transphobia, the xenophobia, the demonization of our Muslim neighbors, the attacks on the free press, the corruption, and the exploitation of the poor and working class that have all been hallmarks of the current administration. I hope that this election will help move our state and nation in a new direction, but I also know that regardless of the outcome there will be much work left to do. Therefore, together we must choose to love ridiculously on November 4th regardless of what happens on election day. May this powerful witness bring honor to the saints that have come before us, and be an encouragement to us all.
Love Ridiculously, Pastor Aaron

ABOUT PUBLIC QUESTION #1: This proposed Constitutional Amendment in Indiana would give broad powers to judges to deny bail. This is not about keeping us safe, and it is going to have significant ripple effects across the criminal justice system which will certainly lead to folks being incarcerated who do not need to be in jail.
The first of John Wesley's General Rules for Christian Living is "Do No Harm." As a witness to our faith and justice for ALL of our neighbors, please vote "NO" on Public Question #1.
