CommQuest Director Chosen for International Leadership Development Program

CommQuest's Director of Early Childhood and Prevention Services Miranda McNeal is among 20 leaders from across the U.S. and around the world, selected from a pool of more than 300 applicants, to participate in ZERO TO THREE’s transformative, 18-month leadership development program. ZERO TO THREE is the leading nonprofit dedicated to ensuring babies and toddlers have a strong start in life.

The 18-month fellowship is designed to support the next generation of early childhood leaders in embracing a courageous, just, and collaborative approach to transforming programs, systems and policies to give babies and toddlers a strong start in life.

“Miranda brings a strong commitment to prevention and workforce development, with a focus on strengthening supports for young children, families and educators. Her expertise in building community partnerships and stronger systems will enrich the fellowship community,” said Kimberly Bradley, director of ZERO TO THREE’s Leadership Development Institute.

Upon completion of the fellowship, the class will join more than 300 national and international leaders from previous cohorts as members of the esteemed Academy of ZERO TO THREE Fellows Alumni Network.

CommQuest Receives $296,925 in Funding to Strengthen Addiction Prevention, Treatment, Recovery and Community Resilience

CommQuest has been approved for $296,925 in grant funding from the OneOhio Recovery Foundation to support its efforts to address substance use disorders and strengthen prevention, treatment, recovery and community resilience initiatives.

The grant from the OneOhio Recovery Foundation will go toward our recovery community engagement initiative to provide ongoing, peer-led support for people with a substance use disorder, helping participants strengthen recovery skills, build connections, celebrate milestones and access resources that promote long-term wellness and hope.

The grant is part of a $45.7 million regional grant funding opportunity awarded by the OneOhio Recovery Foundation as part of its mission to strengthen addiction prevention, treatment, recovery, and community resilience across Ohio. This is the second round of regional grants distributed by the Foundation. The grant funding comes from 55 percent of the funds the state is receiving from the pharmaceutical industry as a consequence of its role in the national opioid epidemic.

The grant awarded to CommQuest reflects the Foundation's commitment to supporting organizations on the front lines of addressing substance use disorder. These investments strengthen community-driven prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts that help build healthier, more resilient communities across Ohio.

Healing Through Art: Creating Spaces of Hope and Wellness

The environment where care is delivered can have a powerful impact on healing. Through the generous support of ArtsinStark, CommQuest continues to enhance our facilities with trauma-sensitive artwork designed to promote comfort, hope and emotional well-being for the individuals and families we serve.

We are especially grateful to local artist Bianca Burwell, whose nature-inspired murals are helping transform our clinical spaces into calm, welcoming environments. Her artwork reflects themes of growth, resilience and renewal, reinforcing the compassionate care at the heart of our mission.

The transformation continues at our Canton Campus, where new murals were recently installed to further support a sense of safety and belonging for those who walk through our doors. These thoughtful additions help create spaces that foster healing and recovery while reminding clients, families, staff and visitors that they are valued and supported.

We extend our sincere thanks to ArtsinStark for investing in the power of art to promote wellness, and to Bianca Burwell for sharing her remarkable talent in ways that positively impact our community every day.

Tyler

Hope Happens Here

As a participant in CommQuest’s Supported Employment Program, Tyler has been working toward a brighter future for himself and his 6-year-old daughter. After more than 15 years in the same job, he took a courageous leap and pursued a completely new career as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

With determination and a belief that change was possible, Tyler completed EMT training at Stark State College, passed both his state certification and National Registry exams, and is now a licensed EMT helping others in his community.

Throughout this journey, Tyler has continued to prioritize his own well-being with support from CommQuest while staying focused on his goals.

Please join us in celebrating Tyler and all he has accomplished! We are so proud to be part of his journey and can’t wait to see where it takes him next.

Meet Rocky, Recovery Support Specialist Supervisor at CommQuest

For Rocky, recovery is more than part of his story. It’s what inspired him to help others find hope in theirs.

“As an individual in recovery, I found a desire to help others the way I was helped.”

What Rocky loves most about his role is the opportunity to connect with clients, encourage them and be a positive influence in their lives. He describes the CommQuest team in one word: resilient.

And Rocky wants others to know just how rewarding this work can be. Recovery Support Specialists have the opportunity to walk alongside people, build meaningful connections and be part of the change.

Could this be the career you’ve been looking for? We’re looking for caring, compassionate people to join our team as Recovery Support Specialists in our residential programs. If you have a heart for helping others and want to make a difference every day, we’d love to hear from you.

Join Rocky. Join our team. Be part of someone’s recovery journey.
