Greetings, Beloved!

It has been several months since we last communicated by email. So, I am delighted to reconnect and share a message I believe the Lord impressed upon my heart for us. Getting back to our foundations.

In this age of high tech usage, sometimes we can find ourselves moving quietly into a habit of using social media, sound bites, and text messages so much that it can move us away from personal time with friends and family.

Have you felt that way lately?

I know I have.

In fact, I think one of the most difficult situations is when we see our personal time with the Lord and His Word diminish and end up with just a few quick encounters throughout the day. The intimacy of hearing His voice and studying His Word can slip away and leave us feeling lonely, hurting and hungry.

Yet it does not have to remain that way.

I have been a student of His Word since I was saved at age 17. I have led many Bible study groups, spoken at Leadership conferences, and spent untold hours by myself in His Presence and His Word. However, over the past few months, I found myself in that lonely, hurting and hungry place.

There is no substitute for time spent in God's Word.

Beyond personal study, there is also a special blessing in gathering with other believers to study Scripture together, pray together, encourage one another, and grow in faith.

May I encourage you to consider setting aside some of the time currently given to social media and dedicating it instead to God's Word?

Gather a few ladies together. Choose a Bible study. Pray. Love. Learn. Grow.
