Embracing a Strong Start: Reflections on Our First Week and the Road Ahead

As we wrap up our first week of school, students and families, I want to express my gratitude and excitement for the year ahead! Seeing our students settling into their routines, reconnecting with friends, and engaging in their new learning environments has been wonderful.

This week has been filled with getting-to-know-you activities, reviewing school rules and expectations, engaging with class content, and enjoying our time together on campus. I am proud of how our staff and students have embraced the start of this year with resilience, especially as we navigate the challenges of being under construction.

Thank you for working with us on our adjusted drop-off and pick-up procedures. We appreciate your support in keeping all our students safe while getting to their rides in the afternoon.

As we move forward, I encourage everyone to continue fostering a supportive and collaborative atmosphere. Remember, communication is vital—if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your teachers or our administrative team. We are here to help you succeed.

Thank you for your support and partnership. I look forward to seeing families next week at Back-to-School Night!

Parents, please join us this Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM for The Winston School Back-to-School Night. The schedule is as follows:

5:00 PM - 5:25 PM Parent Meet and Greet in the breezeway. Enjoy light refreshments.

5:25 PM - 5:35 PM Welcome and Staff Introductions; schedule overview

5:40 PM - 7:00 PM Classroom Rotations

Just to remind you, parking in the front lot is limited due to the ongoing construction of Building 5. Please park in the rear of the campus and walk to the front entrance, as the rear entrance will not be accessible. Plan your arrival time accordingly.

We thank the returning teachers and staff for their critical role in supporting student connections and welcoming new members to the Winston community. We also acknowledge the contributions of departing members, especially Kitty Cullen and Kelly Cavanaugh, whose legacy continues to influence our student-centered culture.
