LOCA is collaborating with Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA) in presenting virtual paint togethers. This is a special opportunity to learn online from notable LPAPA artists as they demonstrate their drawing and painting techniques in easy to follow step-by-step processes. Demos will take place both in-studio and, weather permitting, at iconic south Orange County locations.

Working on location, Debra Huse will show how to use design strategy and clean colors in painting this spectacular shoreline in south Laguna.

Working on location, Mark Fehlman will show how to use perspective in painting historic cottages, and use four values of dark and light.

Working in-studio, Michael Obermeyer will show how to simplify shapes, and use classic plein air techniques in creating a painting based on a photo of a Palos Verdes overlook.

Working in-studio, Daniel Marshall will use watercolor to show how to control washes in creating a sense of depth and space.

Just added! Using subjects inspired by nature, Mary Gulino will teach how to use watercolor, gouache, pencil, and ink to achieve varying levels of opacity and transparency. The two-session class takes place in an outdoor garden setting in Mission Viejo. Non-members $100 / $50 LOCA members.
