When she arrived at our shelter as a stray, she was scared, guarded, underweight, loaded with fleas, and her harness was matted in her fur. After we spent time with her to build trust, we were able to cut off the harness. After working slowly at Missy's pace, we removed the mats in a few days, and her personality began to shine!

She showed us that she is a big sweetheart and loves to give kisses and hugs to her humans. Missy is a big fan of collecting toys, playing fetch, and being with people! We're thrilled to report that she hit the lucky dog lottery and is now living with a wonderful family where she can run, play, feel safe, and get the time and patience she deserves.

Happily ever afters like Missy's fuel our passion for working tirelessly to rescue and rehabilitate the cats and dogs in Yamhill County that arrive at our shelter, most experiencing the worst day of their lives. It's our honor to care for them and make sure they find their forever families.

Oh, hi! You're still hanging out, reading the mews? Purrr-fect!
Every year, about 6.5 MLLION dogs and cats enter shelters nationwide. That's one of the many reasons we are passionate about saving as many helpless, neglected, and homeless animals who arrive at our shelter door every day, scared and alone. Together, we can work towards creating happier and healthier lives for these beautiful animals who depend on us for their second chance at a life filled with love, safety, and belly rubs.

Our monthly giving program, Loyal Companions, allows us to spend our valuable time prioritizing our crucial rescue and rehabilitation efforts rather than fundraising. We depend entirely on the generosity of our community to cover essential expenses such as spay/neuter surgeries, high-quality food, secure shelter, stimulating toys, microchips, and vaccinations for the animals under our care.

Every little bit counts, and together we can make a huge impact on the lives of local dogs and cats. Thank you from the bottom of our animal-loving hearts!

Since 1975, we have we've helped TENS OF THOUSANDS of pets live happier, healthier, and safer lives because of the generosity of our tightly-knit community.
To make our dream of a state-of-the-art, safe and comfortable shelter a reality, we need your help raising the roof. We have raised approximately 56% of our $4.5M goal. Together, we can provide vulnerable pets with compassion, love, medical care, safe shelter and their forever families, while building the future of our organization.

Why do we need a new shelter? Members of the community, along with our Executive Director and Shelter Manager share the many reasons why our need for a new shelter is critical in this 6 minute video, and this 30 second clip.
