A Note from Ingham County Clerk Barb Byrum

Good Morning,

The polls are open until 8:00 p.m. local time throughout Ingham County for the August 2022 Election. All Ingham County Voters have an election today.

For those voters who currently are in possession of an absentee ballot, they must be returned to your local clerk by 8:00 p.m. today. Ballots may be delivered to your local clerk’s office in-person, or dropped in your local clerk’s secure drop box by 8:00 p.m.

If you would prefer to vote in-person, polls are open until 8:00 p.m. local time. Remember to bring your photo ID, or be prepared to swear an affidavit attesting to your identity if you do not have your ID with you.

If you are unsure where your polling place is, you may visit www.mi.gov/vote for that information, as well as contact information for your local clerk’s office, a sample ballot, and more pertinent information. If you are in line at 8:00 p.m., please be aware that you must be allowed to vote, so stay in line.

If you are not yet registered to vote, you still have time and may do so until 8:00 p.m. on Election Day and still vote in this Election. You MUST register in-person with your local clerk in their Office and will need to provide proof of residency, when registering to vote.

If you have received an Absent Voter Ballot and choose to vote in-person at the polls, please bring your issued Absent Voter Ballot to the polls with you and surrender it to an Election Inspector. You may also complete an affidavit if you do not have the ballot in your possession. After confirming with the Clerk that a ballot was not received for you, you will then be issued a new in-person ballot to vote.

Please remember that in Michigan you may not split your primary vote between the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. You must vote in only ONE column, Democratic or Republican. If you cross over, your partisan votes will be invalidated. Regardless of which partisan section you choose, you may always vote in the non-partisan and proposal sections.

If you need assistance while at the polls, please notify an Election Inspector right away and if they are not able to resolve the situation, contact your Local Clerk or my Office.

Unofficial Ingham County Election Results will be available online.
