Trinity Tidings

The Third Sunday in Lent

March 8, 2026

From the Rector

I want to again invite you to our Wednesday Lenten Soup Suppers:

Tonight (March 4th), 11th and 25th.

Supper begins at 5:30pm. On our first night there were four different soups to choose from, along with awesome cornbread!

At 6:15pm I will lead us in a Spiritual Practice.

The first session I offered an introduction to Spiritual Practices, followed by the practice of Centering Prayer.

Tonight, we will do a Media Practice: watching for God in music videos and having some time for discussion on what we saw and heard.

Before we know it, we will move to Compline at 6:45pm, and we will depart for our homes.

I hope you will join us!

Exploring the Sermon on the Mount Continues

Adult Education in Lent with Rev. Kurt

Sunday mornings at 9:15am.

This Sunday we will continue with Exploring the Sermon on the Mount. We will use the NRSV version of Matthew’s Gospel: there are plenty of Bibles for everyone in the classroom.

Due to the Wednesday Lenten Soup Supper and Program, this class will not be offered on Wednesdays as well.

EfM Open Seminar

March 12 & 19

9am to noon in the office classroom

You are invited to join the Education for Ministry (EfM) community in an open, 2 week seminar as we delve into God’s Joyful Surprise by Sue Monk Kidd (author of The Secret Life of Bees).

"Beautifully written . . . the message and challenge of the book is profound. . . . This book will awaken your longing and set you off on your own spiritual journey." —Today's Christian Woman

First, read the book; and then gather with us for discussion and reflection. On March 12, discussion will focus on chapters 1-8, on March19 we focus on chapters 9-16. The book is readily available from several sources: Amazon, Walmart, digitallly on Kindle or on Hoopla (library app). And, yes, we have a few extra copies on hand (first come, first serve).

For more information, contact Barb Parmeter (webminister@trinitymarblefalls.org) or any current EfM participant. Hope to see you then.

Women’s Book Study

Women's Book Study on Bishop Doyle's book, Unabashed Faith, has resumed.

Join us at noon on the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of the month (Sept thru May).

DOK Quiet Day -Saturday, March 21st.

The Daughters of the King invite the women of the congregation to a Quiet Day on Saturday, March 21. The morning will begin at 9:00 a.m. with coffee and pastries, followed by the program from 9:30 a.m. until noon. A simple salad and bread lunch will conclude our time together.

Our speaker will be Christine Brunson, newly installed Vicar at Church of the Holy Cross in Lakeway. The theme for the day is “Come Away for Awhile.” This Quiet Day offers a gentle invitation to step back from the noise and demands of daily life and spend unhurried time with God. Through reflections, guided silence, and Holy Eucharist, we will explore prayer — not as another task to accomplish, but as resting in God’s presence.

Come as you are and receive the gift of stillness during this Lenten season. Women of the congregation are warmly invited to attend, and you are welcome to bring a friend.

Lost and Found

We found two books in the Narthex this week:

A Change of Habit by Sister Monica Clare

In His Image by C. Ross Chandler.

If either of these books are yours, they are now in the office Lost and Found.

Have you thought about becoming a member of the Daughters of the King?

By reaffirmation of the promises made at Baptism and Confirmation, a Daughter pledges herself to a life-long program of prayer, service and evangelism, dedicated to the spread of Christ's kingdom and strengthening of the spiritual life of her parish. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, our vision as members of The Order is to know Jesus Christ, to make Him known to others, and to become reflections of God's love throughout the world. You go through a training course for discernment to become a Daughter of the King. We will be recruiting potential members soon.

If you are interested, please call Sharon Hawley at 830-798-7199 or pick up a brochure in the Narthex.
