With Trump’s return to power, possibly signaling the rise of autocracy and Project 2025, as well as a continuation of the wars in Gaza, Ukraine, and Sudan, and a burning planet, our work is more vital than ever. 

As peace women, we must care for one another, strengthen our organizing, and expand our capacity.

• New Field Organizer Position: Shelby Young, an experienced organizer, is working with us to enhance branch-level recruitment and outreach.
• The Lloyd Family Legacy Campaign: In 2025, a new and experienced executive director and a revitalized national visibility campaign will amplify WILPF’s outreach and impact.

Recent WILPF US Highlights

• Water on the Frontlines for Peace 2024 Triennial Congress. May 29-June 2: Nearly 200 members explored the connections between water, conflict, and solutions for water protection. Recorded sessions are on our YouTube channel. 
• Juneteenth Webinar: Kim Poole (DMV Branch) organized a webinar on reparatory justice with national and international speakers, fostering stronger ties with WILPF International. Watch the recording here.
• International Peace Day: WILPF US sponsored events addressing Gaza’s situation, an Equinox renewal event featuring Starhawk, and Home is a Woman: an event in response to the UN’s Summit for the Future focusing on women-centered economies and safe housing.
