Town Continues to Monitor Potential Weather Effects from Hurricane Isaias

(October 8, 2026)

The National Weather Service has increasing confidence that multiple potential hazards may occur this coming weekend as a result of the approaching first hurricane of the season. While landfall is expected in the Gulf Coast region, storm effects in our area may include:

  • Coastal/surge flooding
  • Localized heavy rain, bringing a risk of flash flooding
  • Severe storms, including tornadoes
  • Dangerous marine and surf conditions

Rainfall of 3-5 inches is likely, with locally higher amounts possible, which could lead to isolated flash flooding. The heaviest rain is expected Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon.

The Town will continue to monitor events and issue advisories as warranted.
