PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

AI Automation & the Future of Fluid Sealing Manufacturing What's Hype, What's Real, What It Costs, and What Industry

Leaders Need to Know Now

By Gene Marks

For more than 20 years, Gene Marks has covered business technology for Forbes, writing 6–8 times per month on artificial intelligence, automation, and enterprise software. In this practical, fast-paced session, he separates AI hype from business reality and explains how manufacturers and suppliers in the fluid sealing industry can use AI to improve productivity, customer service, sales, and profitability.

Drawing from interviews with Microsoft, Google, leading AI companies, manufacturers implementing these technologies today, and his own firm's experience implementing AI solutions for clients, Gene shares real-world examples of where AI is delivering measurable ROI—and where businesses should avoid wasting time and money.

Evolving Regulatory Requirements and Their Impact on the Sealing Industry

By Denise Lee, John Crane

Following her well-received presentation at the FSA 2025 Annual Meeting, Denise Lee returns to provide an update on the latest regulatory developments affecting the sealing industry. As global regulatory requirements continue to expand and evolve, manufacturers and suppliers in the sealing industry face increasing challenges in maintaining compliance and assessing risk across an ever-growing number of regulatory frameworks. This session will provide an overview of key regulations affecting the industry and explore practical approaches for evaluating regulatory exposure. Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of the evolving regulatory landscape and what it means for their operations, products, and supply chains.

From Industry Experience to Published Article:

A Technical Writing Workshop and Luncheon

Facilitated by Ron Frisard, A.W. Chesterton Company

Publishing an industrial article offers many professional benefits. It strengthens your résumé, builds your credibility, expands your industry network, and allows you to share knowledge that can help others solve real-world fluid sealing challenges. Yet many knowledgeable professionals hesitate to write because they do not consider themselves “writers” or believe the process will be too difficult or time-consuming. In this interactive one-hour workshop, Ron Frisard of A.W. Chesterton Company will help participants recognize that they already have the most important ingredient for a strong technical article: valuable experience and a useful story to tell. Recent first-time FSA authors will share how they selected their topics, developed their articles, and discovered that the process was far less intimidating than they expected. Participants will also learn how to turn an application, technical challenge, case history, or industry trend into an article that is informative, practical, and appropriate for publication. Industrial publications are continually looking for credible, educational content. Young engineers, professionals who are new to the industry, and experienced members who have never previously published are especially encouraged to attend. Bring an idea—or simply bring your experience—and leave with the confidence and direction needed to begin your first technical article.
