June 9 The Deepest Hunger of the Heart.jpg

We invite you to join us for worship this Sunday as we explore "The Deepest Hunger of the Heart," inspired by Luke 3:21-22. Together, we'll reflect on the significance of these verses and how they speak to our innermost longings and spiritual journey. Following the service, we will hold our annual meeting to discuss our community's progress and future plans. Additionally, we will bid a heartfelt farewell to David and Jennie Shirey, celebrating their contributions and wishing them well on their next chapter. We look forward to sharing this meaningful day with you.

Helping Hands Make Light Work

There is still time to signup to volunteer. Please consider helping with set up of CLC and Fellowship Hall, cooking, and cleanup for our upcoming Annual Dinner. In addition to fried chicken, we will be providing green beans, baked beans, rolls and drinks. We are also asking you to bring a dessert, salad or other side dish to share! Many hands make light work, so please volunteer if you are able! Check out our sign up sheet and volunteer registration.

*There is no charge for the meal, but donations are welcomed to offset costs. Leftover fried chicken will be available for purchase.

Important Notice for Annual Meeting

After we fill our spirits with worship, our bellies with food, and our hearts with the celebration of the Shireys, we do have congregational business to attend to. Please take the time to review the bylaw revisions and the proposed operational budget, both of which we will be asked to vote on for approval. Your participation and input are crucial as we make these important decisions together.

Sunday Mornings at Broadway - We Need Your Assistance

Sunday mornings are indeed a bustling time at Broadway. Our dedicated team of volunteers ensures everything runs smoothly, creating a welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors.

From the friendly welcomers who offer a warm smile and a kind word, musicians, acolytes, to the ushers who help you find your seat, every role is crucial. The tech booth team works tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our services are seamless, while the nursery staff provides a safe and nurturing space for our youngest members.

We are grateful for the commitment and energy of our volunteers who make each Sunday morning a special experience for all. Whether you're looking for a place to serve or simply want to enjoy the service, there's always a place for you at Broadway. If you are interested in serving on Sunday mornings, please pick up a Sunday Morning Ministries sheet on the engage table or print and return this form.

Voices in Unity

On behalf of the Broadway Collective, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the presence and participation of The Quorus: Columbia's lgbtqqa-z Community Choir in last Sunday's worship service. It was truly inspiring to witness such a beautiful blend of voices lifted up to create an atmosphere of unity and joy.

Thank you once again for sharing your talents with us. We look forward to future opportunities to join together again. #gratefulheart #WhereLoveLeads

Thank You Broadway

Your spirit of generosity raised $1,096 for our Pentecost special offering! This money will be used for New Church ministries locally and nationally.

Our speaker is Chris Bouchard and he will make a presentation based on the World War II memoirs of his father. He will give the details of the mission where his father's B24 aircraft was shot down by the Germans, the fate of the crew, his capture and subsequent internment as a Prisoner of War. Also, the death march from one prison camp to another in the winter of 1945 and his release. Chris hopes these presentations will allow Americans to not forget the sacrifices that so many people gave for this country.

Thank You!

Thank you to Pastor David Shirey and our church friends for reaching out and sending cards after my father's passing. Your presence and expressions of sympathy and concern were comforting. Special thanks to my small group for attending the visitation and praying for us throughout Dad's final days on hospice. We so appreciate our BCC family.  --Jan Farr
