In a flash, we are already down to about six and a half weeks left in the 2022-2023 school year. In this edition there is a copy of an important letter regarding testing guidelines ahead of the PM3 exams next month. If you have a student at Glenridge, please read this closely.
From time to time, I like to remind our families about our ongoing daily high priority when it comes to campus safety. If you, or your student, ever see or hear of something suspicious or unusual, please say somethi ng right away. You may use the FortifyFL app at anytime or say something to any teacher, coach, or administrator. |

Congratulations to Zayn Azam (7th grade) who was accepted to serve as a Page in the Florida Legislature in Tallahassee for State Representative Anna Eskamani from April 24-April 28 this year. This is a tremendous opportunity for Zayn and we are very proud of him. Congratulations to Zayn again as he was also one of our 2022-2023 Quarter 3 Honor Roll students!
Glenridge community footnote: Pages are students who come to the Capitol and work one week during the 60-day Regular Session. Each of Florida's 120 Representatives may sponsor one Page. Pages assist the Representatives and their staff during the Capitol’s busiest time of year while observing state government in action. Good luck Zayn!

Physical Education with Coach Granville
Coach Granville recently attended a tennis and pickle ball training in support of our PE program. Following this, she was able to find a sponsor for some new equipment (below). NETGEN was very generous to send Glenridge a beautiful equipment bag with lots of goodies inside! For our 6th graders, we have 30 brand new tennis racquets that are modified for their specific age group and tennis balls that have less air in them to help with ball control. In addition, we have one student ( Kenzie Kendrick) who’s dad is a professional tennis player. He donated 10 racquets with tennis balls for our more advanced students!!!
Coach Granville is quite excited about the opportunity to build our tennis and pickle ball program at GMS. These are two terrific sports our Lions could play over a lifetime!

U.S. History with Roqual White - "The Factory System"
Students learn about the importance of the industrial revolution through activities that involve assembly lines. As students participate in forming an assembly line, their understanding of the effectiveness of teamwork and cooperation grow.

Mentoring Program

You may qualify to participate in the Horizon Scholars - Take Stock in Children Program! The Horizon Scholars – Take Stock in Children Program is a college readiness and mentoring program that culminates in a 2-year Florida Prepaid scholarship that can be used at any public university, college, or vocational/technical school in Florida.
