MilkWorks: Forward Together
This year during National Breastfeeding Month, MilkWorks has aligned with the United States Breastfeeding Committee’s (USBC) theme, "Forward Together."
This powerful message honors the strength of people coming together to support the life-changing power of human milk. By supporting new parents and their babies in breastfeeding, MilkWorks help families and entire communities grow stronger and thrive.
MilkWorks offers many free and low cost resources to help moms reach their breastfeeding goals. They also offer a wide variety of virtual services, including telehealth lactation care, to continue to serve a growing and changing population.

Dismantling Science
National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the world’s largest public funder of research. In just six months, more than 5,500 research projects have been halted, including cutting more than 100 clinical trials that address chronic disease, cancer, diabetes, and mental health.
These cuts impact local economies, too. If the NIH budget proposal moves forward, 200,000 jobs will be lost, resulting in $46 billion in economic losses. For each $1 invested in NIH, it returns $2.56 in local economies.
NIH has long been the invisible force powering vaccines, cancer therapies, diagnostics, and public health breakthroughs. However, science’s failure to communicate its impact on people’s lives in ways they can see and feel—has made it vulnerable.
What, if anything, can be done? Read more from Dr. Jetelina.
