Cybersecurity Staffing Shortage
A few months back, one of our vendors sent us a reports from a school/education site about how a top concern for many school districts is that they cannot find folks to head up their cybersecurity. But, this phenomenon is not unique to schools.
In fact, studies run at the end of 2023 indicated that the gap between organizations seeking cybersecurity staff and the estimated number of professionals is growing. Already two-thirds of organizations believe they cannot find the needed staff and the gap has risen over 12% in that area each year. Even beyond the staffing shortage, there is often a skills gap where many professionals may not have the experience or expertise to complete the cybersecurity tasks on their own.
This is where an IT partner like Ridge Support can step in. It may be difficult for a smaller organization to meet the offers of huge conglomerates like Google or Microsoft that are looking to hire much of the cybersecurity workforce. Instead, Ridge Support's team can serve as your organizations IT staff or simply support the IT staff in place. From acting as your CTO to serving as your base technicians, IT partners and MSPs like us are able to help cybersecurity concerns (and the staffing/skills issues surrounding it) become an issue of the past for plenty of organizations.
Even in cases where there may not be much immediate support or advice needed, having an MSP partner can help organizations to plan their future moves as well as build a relationship to lean on if the continuing staffing and skills gaps begin to have an effect on your organization. It's a partnership that could pay off as more and more cybersecurity tools and tasks are implemented as part of legal requirements or countermeasures.
If your organization is looking for cybersecurity advice and/or support, please feel free to reach out to our offices to see how we could assist in calming worries in the IT aspect of the organization.
