FOURTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST

July 6, 2025

This Sunday Rev. Dr. Peter Bynum

will preach a sermon entitled "Found in Translation"

based on 2 Kings 5:1-14.

Join us in worship at 10 am.

You can join us in person or via livestream

on Facebook, YouTube, or our Livestream page.

In Our Prayers

  • On this holiday weekend, we pray for our country. May we all seek to be good neighbors to our fellow Americans. May our elected leaders act as true servants of the public, working in the best interest of all the people of our land. And may we all live up to the high ideals of democracy that our forebears worked so hard to establish and defend.

  • We offer our prayers for healing and strength to Chuck Marboe and his wife Bonnie. Chuck has recently been hospitalized in Chicago, Illinios

  • Lori Godwin asks for prayers for:
  • Matt Miller, her cousin who has fallen ill while serving as an engineer on a commercial vessel at sea. May he get the care he needs and recover quickly.
  • Harry, the son of her friend Jane, who continues to battle significant health issues.

Do you have a prayer request to share with our LAC community? Call our prayer line at

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!

This August,

Compassion Camp 2025: Changing the World with Loving-Kindness is just around the corner with a record 42 campers!

We need YOU to help make it the best week of the summer!

Whether you're a master of crafts, a snack-time superstar, a game guru, or just someone who loves seeing kids grow in faith, joy, and compassion, there's a place for you here. There is no advanced preparation, and you can help as little or as much as your schedule allows - a few hours, just one day, or more -- please join us!

What we love the most about LAC is the love that you all have for its children, so together let’s continue to live out our promise to be active participants in building a community where children are nurtured and loved!

If you have any questions, please contact Anna Grace Claunch (agclaunch@lacny.org).

You can sign up to volunteer by clicking the link below.

Liturgists

Volunteer to be a reader in a worship service. The text for the Prayer for Illumination and the scripture reading is provided to you in advance.

LAC Food Connection

Could you prepare a meal for a member of our congregation in need? The LAC Food Connection, under the auspices of the Deacons, provides occasional meals for our members who might have surgery or something that prevents them from cooking themselves. Please contact lacoffice@lacny.org to offer your help. We will add you to our list of volunteers.

August is a difficult time to muster volunteers. Midnight Run is seeking the following volunteers:

  • 8 kids or adults to help prep supplies at 4PM. This is a great family activity for kids as young as 8.
  • 3 adult drivers. We meet at Larchmont Ave. Church at 8:15PM to load our cars with supplies and passengers. The return to Larchmont is around midnight.
  • 6 teens to travel with the adult drivers
  • 2 volunteers to each make 1.5 gallons of pasta salad.

Contact Jim Hanley @ (Mobile) 914-588-3648 for further details or to sign up.
