Fire Station Six Construction

In 2024, our Building Department issued 12,541 permits for residential projects, performed 46,360 inspections and completed 26,269 plan reviews.

Construction began on Fire Station 6, which is expected to be completed in Spring 2025. This Fire Station will serve the western communities in our City.

As part of our ongoing work to provide our community with safe, accessible ways to move around our City, we’ve installed pedestrian flashers near local schools. We also installed a new roundabout at the intersection Fairchild Gardens Avenue and Fairchild Avenue. This is a critical component of our Mobility Plan as we work to make our roadways safer for our community.

We unveiled a new public artwork as part of our Art in Public Places program: “Piece by Piece” by Bejamin Heller. The mural is located on the south side of the new North County Service Center (Tax Collector's Office).

"I knew this wall would be seen by a lot of people, and I’m grateful for that and enjoy the fact that new people will come and see it," said Heller.
