WE'RE CONNECTED

Faith-Action-Sisterhood

We are a sisterhood, connected to women like us, and not like us, all around the world. We challenge ourselves to think of women, children and youth on the other side of the world, so we feel a kinship to the girls at the Jerri Savuto Center. They could be our nieces!

How often do we challenge ourselves to think of UWFaith that live somewhere like Kerrville?

I wrote to our sisters in Kerrville last week and got this response:

Kerrville postmark

Dear UWFaith of Horizon Texas Conference,

We are all eager to help in some way. Kerr County is on the west side of Hill Country District. Canyon Lake has provided protection for those of us downstream of the lake. Kerrville UMC and St. Paul's UMC in town have been active in providing assistance in Kerrville and the county.

All the churches in the district and conference are collecting and have sent funds for the needs now and to come. UMCOR has a station in Kerrville, so they are in place without travel.

Let us all pray for the injured and lost. ...and give thanks for the hard work of the rescuers. Thank you for thinking of our Hill Country District. We are honored by your concern.

Blessings,

Emily Poling, President

Hill County District of the Rio TX Conference

Keep praying for our sisters, their families, churches & communities, and donate as you are able.
