Today it’s not about the written word but rather our new monthly podcast! In a special two-part series, Bill Christian turns the tables and interviews SuperFrank. The two dive deep into the current issues facing LPTV broadcasters, sharing candid insights, real-world challenges, and promising opportunities for our industry.

Listen to both episodes — they’re packed with valuable perspectives you won’t want to miss.

Recommended Reading: Why Broadcasters Belong In America’s Resilience Future

We came across a very well-written opinion piece this week that strongly reinforces the critical role broadcasters play in our nation’s infrastructure — especially during emergencies and grid challenges.

In the article, WattsNewz CEO Dave Hutchinson makes a compelling case for moving beyond the traditional spectrum battles and recognizing advanced broadcast platforms (including ATSC 3.0 / 5G Broadcast) as essential national resilience infrastructure. He highlights how broadcasting’s one-to-many capability provides reliable communications when cellular networks are congested or unavailable — a capability that is increasingly valuable for utilities, emergency management, and public safety.

Hutchinson encourages regulators (FCC and FERC) and broadcasters to work together on a broader resilience framework that leverages our unique strengths for grid resiliency, emergency alerting, and critical communications.
