A Message From Your Director

Dear St. James Families,

Welcome to a new school year at St. James Episcopal School! I am delighted that you have chosen our school for your child’s education. Our parish has been hard at work this summer preparing the school building and our new classrooms for a successful and joyful start to the year.

We are thrilled to welcome both our returning families and those joining our community for the very first time as we embark on an extraordinary new school year together. This year marks an exciting milestone in the life of our school as we open the doors to our beautiful new St. James Commons —a place where curiosity will flourish, friendships will grow, and faith and learning will come together in inspiring new ways. We cannot wait to fill these new spaces with the energy, laughter, and joyful learning of our students as we begin this remarkable new chapter together with the goal of eventually offering classes through 6th grade.

As we transition from the relaxed days of summer to the rhythms of school life, I’m reminded of the unique energy that comes with “back to school.” This is a season filled with curiosity, enthusiasm, and tremendous growth.

We are proud to have a dedicated team of passionate teachers, teaching assistants, enrichment educators, and church staff—all committed to nurturing each child’s intellectual and emotional development. Our goal is to provide a positive, inspiring learning environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.

Please note that all enrollment forms must be completed and submitted to the school office by Monday, August 10th. Students may not attend school until all required forms are submitted.

I am confident that St. James will continue to be a place where both teachers and students grow, learn, and flourish. Let this letter serve as both a warm welcome and a reassurance that we are committed to making this school year a meaningful and memorable one for your child. I look forward to partnering with you and celebrating the many accomplishments of our students throughout the year.

With warmest regards,

Shelley Miller

LET'S GET READY FOR SCHOOL!

New Car Line Pattern

With the opening of our new school building, we will have a new car line traffic pattern for the upcoming school year. Please take a few moments to review the map and familiarize yourself with the new route before the first day of school.

Enter the parking lot from Section Street using the north entrance (closest to the roundabout at Section St. and Triangle Drive) or from the gravel drive on Triangle Drive.

Important note: The south entrance to St. James from Section Street is EXIT ONLY during school drop-off and pick-up.

Proceed south through the lower parking lot to the school drop-off line (yellow arrows) at St. James Commons. Form a single line of vehicles and pull forward. The first car should pull all the way up to the designated stopping point. Please put your vehicle in park and have children exit from the passenger side of vehicles. Staff will be on duty to assist with exiting vehicles and getting children into the building. Remain parked until the staff member directing traffic signals that it is safe to leave.

During school pick-up, pull forward to the "Buckle Zone" to fasten children in car seats. Please do not exit your vehicle in the car line.

When exiting the parking lot, proceed north and keep right through the upper parking lot. You may exit at the north entrance on Section St., the south entrance on Section St., or the gravel drive on Triangle Dr.

Important note: The north entrance on Section St. is RIGHT TURN ONLY. To exit here and go south on Section St., you must make a right turn out of the parking lot and circle the roundabout.

ST. JAMES KNIGHTS NEWS

Parents are invited to join us each Monday beginning Monday, August 17, for a quick devotion as we start the week together. We look forward to gathering in fellowship and sharing a meaningful moment of prayer and reflection with our school family.

Lemonade on the Lawn

We had a wonderful time at Lemonade on the Lawn catching up with returning families, meeting new students, and watching friends reconnect before the start of another exciting school year!

St. James Episcopal School is still accepting applications for the 2026–2027 school year for students 30 months through 3rd grade. As members of our school community, you know firsthand what makes St. James such a special place to learn and grow.

If you have friends or family who may be looking for a nurturing, faith-centered school with strong academics and a close-knit community, we would be grateful if you shared our name with them.
