Dear Friends,

March 24 is GiveChoose, Loudoun's online day of giving, hosted by the Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties.

GiveChoose is a 24-hour online day of giving that brings people together to support local nonprofits. It’s a simple but meaningful way to make a big impact close to home. The official day is March 24, but the portal is already open, and LHR is grateful for gifts in any amount. We have anonymous donors matching your gifts up to $17,500, so it's a great time for your gift to go further.

Loudoun Hunger Relief is raising funds to purchase a refrigerated box truck. This truck will allow us to safely transport more fresh food from grocery store partners and local farms, helping us expand access to nutritious produce, dairy, and protein for the families we serve. With increased capacity, we can rescue more food, reduce waste, and keep healthy food moving efficiently throughout our community.

Your support during GiveChoose helps ensure that no matter the season, our neighbors have reliable access to the food they need. Thank you for standing with us and for being part of the care and compassion that defines our community.

With gratitude,

The Loudoun Hunger Relief Team 💗

Ice Bowl Rocks (and this one was on the rocks)!

Although we're glad to be done with snow and ice, we'll never get enough of Loco Disc Golf Club's Ice Bowl! It was a very cold day (8 degrees!) for this year's Ice Bowl, an international effort by Disc Golf Clubs to raise funds for their local emergency food charities.

Huge thanks to the Loco club for it's 13th consecutive year of supporting LHR's mission with their incredibly fun series of Ice Bowl events. This year's event series raised an incredible $31,000, bringing their lifetime total of support for those in need of food in our Loudoun community to $266,000.

Thanks, Loco Disc Golf for the fun you bring to the dreary days of January, and the food you make possible for our neighbors all year long.

Plant a Row For Those in Need!

As you plan your vegetable garden this season, consider planting an extra row or a few additional plants to help neighbors in need. Your backyard bounty can go a long way in supporting our community. We gratefully accept fresh produce donations, every tomato, zucchini, and pepper helps!

Check our current donation hours at loudounhunger.org before you stop by.

We Need Dry Beans!

This March, we’re asking for dry beans!

At Loudoun Hunger Relief, dry beans are a pantry staple. They’re packed with protein and fiber, shelf-stable, and can stretch into multiple healthy meals for the families we serve.

If you’re shopping this month, consider adding a bag or two to your cart or check out our Amazon Wishlist. Every donation helps keep nutritious food on our shelves.

Calling All Local Runners!

Registration is open for the annual Ashburn Village at Fiesta 5K, 10K, and Fun Run on Saturday, May 2 at Fincastle Field! All proceeds from the race will benefit Loudoun Hunger Relief. At the finish line, participants will enjoy a morning Fiesta featuring food trucks, music, and prizes.
