With active membership working on a variety of concerns, you are urged to learn more and choose where to be part of the renewed Advancing Human Rights issues committee. The next full-committee meeting will be on Wednesday, September 29 – starting at 5/6/7/8 PM in the different US time zones.
Register for the 9/29 meeting and decide which AHR subcommittee(s) to join!
Subcommittees have started meeting separately to have time together to focus on work and planning. Your participation is important.
The following subjects were discussed by developing subcommittees at the three summer meetings. All WILPF US members are encouraged to write to AHRchair@wilpfus.org to get connected with any of the subcommittees and/or to suggest other subjects related to human rights.
- Anti-racism work
- Immigration justice and border militarization
- End mass incarceration
- UN International Decade for People of African Descent / Reparations
- United Nations work involving women – including Human Trafficking, CEDAW and Resolution 1325
- Other concerns, including housing, police militarization and more!
