Newark Liberty's New Terminal A
What's New at EWR Terminal A and What to Expect
The era of snaking, endless security lines, cramped corridors of luggage-hauling travelers and bland amenities is nearly in the past as the first phase of the reconstructed Terminal A at Newark Liberty International Airport prepares to open Dec. 8. United Airlines, JetBlue, Air Canada and American Airlines will be the first companies to transition to the new Terminal A, with Delta moving over next year.
The new terminal will have 33 gates. The December opening of the first 21 gates was slightly delayed due to "a revenue downturn" that resulted from the pandemic and slowed construction, according to Port Authority Chairman Kevin O'Toole. The 12 remaining gates will open in nine months. The new building will be able to handle at least 13 million passengers annually, with nearly double the number of gates of the old one; 60 kiosks that can be used by flyers from any airline to check in and take care of baggage labels; and vastly increased space and lines for security.
The airport’s artwork features local artists, whose selection came with the assistance of the first lady, and bathrooms that are themed for four areas of the state, such as Ocean. There are six concession spaces of local businesses that stick out for their industrial-inspired design using shipping-container framing, paying homage to the birthplace of the steel containers, with Port Newark and its cranes visible from the terminal’s floor-to-ceiling windows.

Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN is the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. As the Chair of ASEAN in 2022, Cambodia is committed to leading ASEAN under the theme “ASEAN A.C.T.: Addressing Challenges Together” for harmony, peace, and prosperity in the whole region.
Cambodia joined ASEAN for its shared commitments and common responsibilities in pursuit of peace, stability, and prosperity based on the principles of independence, sovereignty, non-interference in internal affairs, and equitable treatment without imposition. “We do not want to choose sides. ASEAN wants to work closely with both the U.S. and China,” said Kung Phoak, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Cambodia, on strained relations between the two nations. “The U.S.-China relations are the most important relations, not just to the two countries, but also to our regional development as well.”
ASEAN is the most successful regional organization in Asia. The 10-nation bloc is made up of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. In its own summit, ASEAN did at least take one positive step forward, admitting Timor-Leste, which, against all odds, has become probably the most robust democracy in the region.

G20 Summit 2022 in Indonesia
Hardys Malls Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia
The 17th G20 Heads of State and Government Summit took place in15-16 November 2022 in Bali. The Summit was the pinnacle of the G20 process and intense work carried out within the Ministerial Meetings, Working Groups, and Engagement Groups throughout the year.
The G20 or Group of Twenty is an intergovernmental forum comprising 19 countries and the European Union (EU). It works to address major issues related to the global economy, such as international financial stability, climate change mitigation, and sustainable development.
The G20 is composed of most of the world's largest economies, including both industrialised and developing nations; it accounts for around 80% of gross world product (GWP), 59–77% of international trade, two-thirds of the global population, and 60% of the world's land area.
All countries within a group are eligible to take over the G20 Presidency when it is their group's turn. Therefore, the states within the relevant group need to negotiate among themselves to select the next G20 President. Each year, a different G20 member country assumes the presidency starting from 1 December until 30 November. The 2023 and 2024 summits will be hosted by India and Brazil respectively.

Indonesia High Speed Railway
Indonesia is preparing to start Southeast Asia’s first high-speed rail service that will cut travel time between two cities from the current three hours to about 40 minutes.
The railway line, which connects Indonesia’s capital Jakarta and Bandung, the heavily populated capital of West Java province, is part of China’s Belt and Road infrastructure initiative.
The project is part of a planned 750-kilometer high-speed train line that would cut across four provinces on the main island of Java and end in the country’s second-largest city of Surabaya.
As the Jakarta-Bandung portion of the rail project approached 90 percent completion, Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo on Thursday visited Bandung’s Tegalluar station — one of the railway’s four stations — where eight train cars and an inspection train that arrived from China in early September were parked. The cars will be divided into three classes: VIP, first and second, and several cars with large spaces between seats will be allocated for passengers with limited mobility.

Kota Kinabalu, Sabah -
One of Malaysia's Most Beautiful Capital City
Founded as early as 1882 (140 years ago), Kota Kinabalu is the capital of Malaysia’s Sabah state in the northern part of the island of Borneo. Often referred to as KK, it’s a coastal city partly surrounded by rainforest and islands.
It's known for its bustling markets, modern boardwalk, beaches and waterfront Kota Kinabalu City Mosque. It is a major tourist destination and a gateway for travelers visiting Sabah and Borneo. It is also a gateway to Kinabalu National Park, the home of 4,095 meter-high Mount Kinabalu. Kinabalu Park is located about 90 kilometers from the city and there are many other tourist attractions in and around the city. Kota Kinabalu is also one of the major industrial and commercial centers of East Malaysia.
Aside from its beautiful city, mountain and islands, Kota Kinabalu is a perfect city to gain insight on Sabah's heritage in the form of cultural villages. Some popular and unique cultural villages are Mari Mari Cultural Village, KDCA Cultural Village and Walai Tobilung. The main dialect spoken by Kota Kinabalu's Chinese community is Hakka, but Mandarin and Cantonese are also widely understood and spoken. There is also a sizeable Korean community in Kota Kinabalu who runs restaurants serving specialties from home.
More recently, the city has moved towards a more tertiary-based industry, especially with regards to the boom in the tourism industry. Many state-level, national-level and international commercial banks, as well as some insurance companies have their headquarters or branches here.
