Elms College Signs MOU with

Beacon ABA Services and Evergreen Center

Elms College and Beacon ABA and the Evergreen Center, a Worcester County organization providing intensive behavioral services to people with developmental disabilities, entered a partnership that allows employees with Beacon and other affiliated organizations to pursue degrees at Elms for a reduced cost. The official signing ceremony took place on October 6. Under terms of the partnership, employees of Beacon ABA Services and the Evergreen Center Inc., of Milford, MA., are eligible for discounted tuition in master’s programs. Beacon ABA Services is based in Milford but operates field offices across the state, including in Chicopee.

The partnership is a natural fit and mutually beneficial. Elms offers a number of in-person, online, or hybrid undergraduate and graduate programs, including a Master of Science degree in Applied Behavior Analysis.

Agreement Allows Springfield Technical Community College and Holyoke Community College Students to Reside at Elms College

On October 8, Elms College entered into a new agreement with Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) and Holyoke Community College (HCC) that will allow students of those two community colleges to reside in residence halls at Elms. STCC and HCC are commuter colleges and do not provide on-campus housing. This agreement benefits STCC and HCC students who have housing needs. At the same time, it creates another pathway for students to consider completing a baccalaureate degree at Elms.

On Campus

Innovation Challenge

As part of the First Year Seminar experience, students participate in the annual Innovation Challenge, a hands-on project designed to spark creativity, collaboration, and real world problem solving. Working in small teams, students develop a concept for a groundbreaking new product and present their ideas before a panel of judges.

Throughout the process, students strengthen essential skills such as critical thinking, teamwork, field research, and effective communication, all of which are highly valued in today’s workplace. Just as importantly, the Innovation Challenge offers students an opportunity to build connections, discover new strengths, and have a little fun along the way.

Business Networking Event

The annual Business Alumni Event at the Munich Haus on November 13 was a tremendous success, drawing a record 75 attendees and filling the room with energy, conversation, and connection. Throughout the evening, current students had the opportunity to engage with distinguished alumni in a dynamic networking environment. The room buzzed with conversation as students asked questions, sought advice, and learned from graduates who have gone on to excel in a wide range of impressive professional roles.  The event highlighted what makes the Elms College Business Division so special: a thriving network of alumni eager to give back, and students ready to step into their own futures with confidence and purpose.
