9th GRADE PEER MENTOR GROUPS

Freshmen students have the opportunity to participate in the Peer Mentoring Program this school year. The transition to high school is a significant milestone, and we want to ensure that students feel supported. To help navigate this exciting new chapter, students will be paired as a mentee with a dedicated upperclassman mentor who has volunteered their time to guide, encourage, and support them.

The mentor groups will meet in person during study hall or lunch four times throughout the school year during the following windows:

• September: Initial kickoff, icebreakers, and navigating the first weeks of school
• October: Checking in on academic adjustments and working on time management
• November/December: Managing final exams, holiday stress, and winter preparation
• After Christmas Break: Launching into the second semester and setting new goals

In addition to these structured meetings, mentors will be available throughout the year.

This program will help students build meaningful connections, increase their confidence, and ensure a smooth, successful transition to high school.

Due to the limited time in their schedules, Excel students will not be able to participate in the program. If your student is having difficulty transitioning, please contact one of the counselors.

If you have any questions about the program, please feel free to reach out to the school counseling office or email: brittany.schneider@miu4.org or kpearson@northcatholic.org.

ALUMNI CORNER

A GLIMPSE INTO NORTH CATHOLIC HISTORY

The next time you walk through the main entrance of North Catholic, take a minute and and you’ll find more than just trophy cases—you’ll find a glimpse into our school’s incredible history. The cases are filled with memorabilia, photographs and treasures from generations of Trojans, offering a look back at the people, traditions and accomplishments that have shaped North Catholic.

One especially special piece is a photograph of North Catholic’s first graduating class in 1943, an all-boys class representing the beginning of a legacy that continues to this day.

We invite our parents, students and visitors to take a moment to stop by the trophy cases and see a little bit of North Catholic’s past on display. After all, some of our best stories are the ones that have been around for decades!

Join us before the Homecoming game!

Stop by the Alumni Tailgate at the Old Firehouse on Friday, October 9, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy snacks, connect with alumni, and help us cheer on the Trojans before they take on Deer Lakes. No alcohol will be served. Everyone is welcome—whether you . Come for a little while or stay until it’s time to head to JC Stone Field for the game.

We hope to see you there!

Calling All North Catholic Military Alumni!

Do you have a son, daughter, or family member who graduated from North Catholic and currently serves, or has served, in the U.S. military?

We’ll be honoring our military alumni who attend the Homecoming football game before kick-off on October 9, 2026.

If you have a North Catholic graduate who has served or is currently serving, please send us their name, graduation year, branch of service, and current/previous status so we can make sure they’re included and added to our website which lists all alumni who have served in the Military. Help us recognize and thank the Trojans who have answered the call to serve.

Please contact the Alumni Office at amorrison@northcatholic.org
