ISU Open Education Week will be held as a precursor to the statewide Idaho Open Education Week virtual conference (March 1 - 5). ISU Open Education Week is being held one week earlier to complement the state’s programming and spotlight open educational resource initiatives at the University.
Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching and learning materials that are openly licensed so that everyone has permission to retain, reuse, revise, remix, and redistribute them. Research shows that OER leads to greater student success and retention, but OER has benefits for instructors, too! Adopting OER in your courses can increase your instructional freedom and help transform your pedagogy.
Please join us for a week of programming around open education, and learn why and how to adopt, adapt, or even author OER for your courses. Programs will feature ISU Textbook Heroes who have inspiring OER success stories to share, and helpful tutorials from University Libraries and ITRC staff.
Registration is requested to join the Zoom sessions, but events will also be streamed via YouTube. Please see the ISU Open Education Week website for program descriptions and livestream information.
