What If… Success Comes With a Few Wrinkles?

New ideas are exciting. Getting them to work

is another story!

Howdie!

Happy Thursday!

Wondering what ever happened to those unfinished projects I've been tinkering with?

Yes! I’ve been working on them. Each has its story to tell!

First up: the doll's nose with ATTITUDE.

My new pattern I created to showcase the nose on a doll's face worked like a champ!

Unfortunately, that marvelous little nose came with a very steep price: three-plus hours of stuffing, poking with a needle to move the stuffing into the right place, prodding, chasing wrinkles and smoothing bumps away with sharp needles.

Still ahead is the face-painting challenge.

Previously, I painted faces on flat fabric before sewing the pattern pieces together. My new pattern requires assembling the three-dimensional head, then painting the face in place to get the proportions right.

Translation? A whole new learning curve ahead.

And the paper vessels? Three of the five have been completed after receiving multiple layers of polyurethane lacquer and added embellishments.

The fabric hands experiment? It’s waiting patiently its turn.

The Wonder Vault Event: Yicks!

The vault is scheduled to open in less than four short weeks. I have been busy adding new discoveries into the vault, ordering the materials I need to finish projects and working on creating the proper signage.

What's the lesson in all of this?

Every What if…? opens a door to possibilities that are followed by a pile of unexpected consequences.

But that's the fun of creating something that hasn't existed before. The process requires experimentation, learning, adjusting, and trying again.

After all, it would not be something extraordinary if it came about any other way!

What challenges are you facing?

By for now,

Nora

School's Out, Art's In!

Who says an old school desk can’t graduate into something extraordinary?

This vintage classroom classic has traded boring for bold color, touchable texture, and a glossy resin finish! Add adjustable legs, and it’s ready to rise to the occasion.

One-of-a-kind. Full of character and purpose. Definitely NOT your average school desk! Ready for its new work assignment with flair, charm and nostalgia.
