GABRIEL LEA HONORED AS SCHOLAR- ATHLETE OF THE YEAR

He was a star on the football field in the fall, named All-Frontier League First Team, and earned the title Frontier League Defensive MVP for soccer this winter. He is just as impressive in the classroom, maintaining a 4.4 GPA while taking several AP and honors classes. He was also a member of Laguna Blanca Honor Roll all four years, and devotes hours to volunteering in the community. Gabriel heads off to Claremont McKenna College this fall where he signed to play football. Congratulations, Gabriel!
FIRST GRADE CELEBRATE ST. PATRICK'S DAY

The anticipation of St. Patrick's Day brought excitement to our First grade students. They created and decorated their shamrock crafts with green paper and glitter, sharing what makes them feel lucky: family, friends, and kindness. There was lots of laughter as they exchanged stories of leprechauns and lucky charms. Be sure to look for the gold pot at the bottom of the rainbow!.
MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS TAKE ON PI ESTIMATION CHALLENGE

Today is Pi Day and Middle School students joined in a lively Pi Estimation challenge during lunch. They dropped wooden skewers onto a grid, using the data collected to estimate Pi, inspired by Buffon's Needles from 1777. With nearly 1000 sticks thrown, our estimate of Pi was 3.035 (vs 3.142), which is a margin of error of less than 4%. Not bad for throwing a few sticks in the air!
