A Fresh Chapter for Ziggy’s Market 

Ziggy’s Market, 4641 Broadview Rd., has served Old Brooklyn for nearly four decades. Owned by its current operators for 17 years, the neighborhood staple is now set for a major refresh, powered by $89,335 from the Ward 12 Commercial Corridor Grant. The renovation will upgrade the storefront and critical building systems to help the market serve residents for years to come. Councilwoman Rebecca Maurer championed the investment, which is coordinated by Cleveland Neighborhood Progress. We are excited to see this project progress!

New Wards, Same Community: Changes Ahead for 2026

You may have heard that the City of Cleveland’s ward map is changing in 2026. Cleveland City Council was required to reduce the number of wards due to population decline, as mandated by the City Charter.

Discover What’s New at the South Brooklyn Branch

The South Brooklyn Branch of Cleveland Public Library is the second highest circulating branch in the system (circulating over 100,000 items annually!) and partners with local schools and community organizations. This winter, there are programs for all ages like youth art activities, family movie night, adult book clubs, English conversation clubs, and senior art programs. In February, they are hosting a Scan Day where you can bring in photos and documents to digitize them. In March, they will be offering free children's dance classes. Come support your local library, right here in Old Brooklyn!
