Small Business Saturday:
Shop Small. Make a Big Difference in Montgomery

Small Business Saturday is November 28, and it’s a great reason to explore what Montgomery’s local businesses have to offer. As the holiday season begins, don’t miss the opportunity to support a local merchant, explore local shops, enjoy local meals and treats while completing your shopping needs close to home!.

Behind every storefront is someone who has invested time, hard work and heart into their business. These are the people who remember your usual order, help you find just the right gift, and they donate to the school and community fundraisers. They’re our neighbors, and the choices we make as customers help keep their businesses going and our community stronger.

As you make your holiday plans, look right here in Montgomery. Pick up a gift from a local shop, meet friends for lunch or book a service you’ve been meaning to try. Gift cards for meals, classes, personal care and other local experiences make thoughtful presents, too.  You may be surprised by the wide variety of offerings in our town.

Montgomery has longtime favorites worth revisiting and newer businesses waiting to be discovered. Try somewhere you haven’t been, bring a friend and share a recommendation. A positive review or a personal referral can mean a great deal to a small business.

The Montgomery Business Association encourages residents to shop locally on November 28 and throughout the year. Browse our member directory at shoplocalmontgomery.com for ideas and help keep our business community thriving—one visit, one purchase and one recommendation at a time.

Thank you for supporting the Montgomery Business Community!.

Familiar Faces, New Connections:
September Social at Cherry Valley

Close to 50 people joined the MBA at Cherry Valley Country Club for our September Social, an evening celebrating members old and new. With tasty food and drinks and a fabulous setting, there was plenty of opportunity to catch up, make introductions and enjoy time together.

We were especially pleased to recognize some of our longest-standing members in attendance: The Tiger’s Tale, The Montgomery News, Village Shoes, Red Barn Printing, Team Nimbus, Singer & Fedun, LLC and Mason, Griffin & Pierson, P.C. Their continued involvement has helped make the MBA the strong business association it is today.

Every member in attendance had a chance to briefly introduce their business to the crowd—a great way to put names to faces and learn more about the businesses in our community. Several guests also joined in the cornhole fun, with prizes up for grabs, and a generous assortment of door prizes added to the evening’s excitement.

Our members also brought their generosity, contributing several bags of peanut butter, jelly and laundry detergent for the Montgomery Township Food Pantry. Thank you to everyone who donated to help our neighbors in need.

Thank you to Cherry Valley Country Club for hosting us and to everyone who contributed door prizes. A special thank-you goes to Jessica Cruz of Cruz’s Candid Photos for capturing the evening. And to everyone who attended: thank you for making it such a lively, enjoyable night!

A Month of Community & Gratitude

November brings three occasions that invite us to think about our role in the community and the people who make it a place we’re proud to call home.

Election Day is a reminder that we each have a voice in shaping our community’s future. Taking time to learn about the candidates and issues and casting a ballot are practical ways to take part. The conversations we have matter, too, especially when we listen with respect to those whose views differ from our own.

On Veterans Day, we honor the men and women who have served in our armed forces.  We are thankful for the veterans who are among our local business owners, employees, customers and families. To all who have served, thank you for your service, commitment and sacrifice.

As Thanksgiving approaches, we’re grateful for the many people who show up for Montgomery throughout the year. Business owners contribute to fundraisers, volunteers give their time, nonprofits care for our neighbors and pets, and residents support the shops and services that help our town thrive. Much of that happens quietly, but its positive impact is felt throughout the community.

From all of us at the Montgomery Business Association, thank you for the part you play. We wish you and your loved ones a peaceful and happy Thanksgiving.

Become a Member of the MBA Board

Bring Your Ideas — and Help Make Them Happen

An MBA social starts with someone finding a venue. A new member’s welcome begins with someone reaching out. Behind the events, promotions and connections our members enjoy is a board that helps plan the work and carries it forward.

We’re looking for new board members to join that effort. If you’ve ever thought, “The MBA should try this,” serving on the board is an opportunity to help turn that idea into something useful for our members.

The work supports a clear purpose: helping people discover and choose Montgomery businesses, including our shops, restaurants and the many service businesses working beyond a storefront. Board members bring different skills and perspectives to that mission, with opportunities to contribute through marketing, membership, outreach, event planning and other committee work.

This is an active commitment. Members are expected to attend board, participate in MBA events, welcome new businesses, and handle responsibilities between meetings. Previous board experience is not required; time, consistent participation and a willingness to work together to make the MBA even better are.

In return, you’ll get to know the people behind local businesses and have a direct hand in shaping what the MBA offers next.

Interested in joining us? Please contact the MBA by November 12, 2026, and tell us a little about yourself, your business and how you’d like to get involved. Have questions about the time commitment or responsibilities? Let’s talk—we’re happy to help you decide if it’s a good fit.

Member Spotlight: My Mobile Therapists

Helping Adults and Children Get Back to Everyday Life

Buttoning a shirt, writing a school assignment or returning to a favorite activity can become a challenge when an injury or developmental difficulty gets in the way. Helping people build or regain those everyday abilities is the focus of My Mobile Therapists – Advanced Adult and Pediatric Hand Therapy, owned by Elizabeth Henriquez.

A relatively new MBA member, Elizabeth is an occupational therapist and Certified Hand Therapist whose practice serves children and adults throughout Central New Jersey. She completed a Hand Therapy Fellowship at the University of Michigan Health System and earned her master’s degree in occupational therapy from Thomas Jefferson University. She shares her experience with future clinicians as an adjunct faculty member at Rutgers University and Thomas Jefferson University, and is currently focused on growing her practice to expand access to specialized rehabilitation services throughout Central Jersey.

Her practice provides rehabilitation for conditions affecting the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand, including recovery following surgery or injury. Services also include custom splints, neurological rehabilitation and pediatric occupational therapy. For children who struggle with handwriting, specialized instruction helps develop the skills needed for schoolwork and everyday tasks. The emphasis is on practical goals that matter to each patient and family.

Patients receive individual attention, with appointments dedicated to one person at a time. The practice’s new clinic at 83 Princeton Avenue, Suite 2B, in Hopewell provides a setting for specialized treatment and handwriting intervention. In-home visits remain available based on clinical need and geographic availability.

“Every lift, every grip, every reach represents an opportunity for me to help someone regain their independence. I created My Mobile Therapists because I believed patients deserved more time, attention, and personalized care. My goal is to provide specialized rehabilitation services that are accessible and centered on what matters most to each patient. I am excited to serve individuals and families throughout Montgomery and greater Central Jersey, helping them return to the activities that make life meaningful. I look forward to supporting fellow local businesses.”

Elizabeth is excited to become more involved in the MBA and get to know fellow members. We’re pleased to welcome her perspective and introduce residents and businesses to the work she does for patients and families in our area.

What They Say About the MBA...

“Our firm has been a proud member of the Montgomery Business Association since its inception. Membership in the MBA has provided a wonderful opportunity to connect with other local businesses, build meaningful relationships, and work together to strengthen both our business community and the community as a whole.

As a longtime resident of Montgomery Township, whose family has owned businesses in Montgomery for three generations since 1930, I believe strongly in giving back to the community I call home. Being part of an organization made up of individuals who share that same commitment to supporting local businesses, helping others, and making Montgomery a stronger community is both meaningful and fulfilling.

I am grateful to be part of an organization that brings people together with a shared purpose and a genuine desire to make a difference."
