Bronco Family,

Welcome to another newsletter! The April issue of the Bronco Family Newsletter includes the following important information regarding a mask mandate update, an exciting commencement video opportunity, updates about the beloved CLA building, an introduction to our newest Bronco, and CPP Giving Day!
Cal Poly Pomona Mask Mandate Update
Beginning Saturday, April 2, masks are strongly recommended but not required for indoor settings on campus. Faculty, staff and students cannot require others to wear or not wear a mask in classrooms, labs, offices, meeting spaces and other indoor locations.

Though no longer required, wearing a mask indoors is strongly recommended, and it continues to be a highly effective way to protect yourself and our community from the spread of the COVID-19 virus and variants. The university will continue to provide medical grade surgical masks and KN95 masks to all students, faculty and staff at no charge.
Spring 2022 Commencement Video Opportunity
Are you bursting with Bronco pride because your student is a 2022 graduate? If the answer to that question is "Yes!", then we've got a fun opportunity that will let you be a part of this year's Commencement! We're looking for families to record short congratulatory video messages for our students that will be featured on campus websites and social media channels.

Videos can be shot using your cell phone and should be between 10-20 seconds long. This is your chance to let everyone know how great your students are, so don't let this opportunity pass you by!

Here are some tips to consider before you start recording:

1.  Hold your phone horizontally when you record your message.
2.  Make sure you're well lit so we can see your smiling faces.
3.  Pick a fun background.
4.  Wear some CPP gear to show your Bronco pride!

Videos must be submitted via email to stratcomm@cpp.edu and broncofamily@cpp.edu by May 2nd in order to be considered for inclusion as part of this year's commencement.

We look forward to seeing all of your congratulatory messages!
The Classroom/Laboratory/Administration (CLA) Tower is Going Away!
The first phase of the CLA Tower and Registrar Building Demolition Project is officially underway! While the university considered numerous options for the CLA tower before concluding that it's removal would be in the best interest of the safety of the campus, the iconic but structurally flawed building will be demolished this summer to pave way for a multi-use green space for the community.

To accommodate students and families who would like to take graduation photos or non-commercial portrait shots at the CLA Tower, Facilities Planning & Management (FP&M) has scheduled opportunities in late March and in mid-May. The contractor will pull back fencing along the Paseo and the stairway leading up to the CLA Tower entrance from May 14 to May 22 for photo opportunities.
