GEARED UP FOR BACK-TO-SCHOOL!

This back-to-school season, Rocket Mortgage delivered 40 beautiful, personalized backpacks, filled with school supplies for our CASA youth. Children in foster care face ongoing uncertainty, and having school essentials can help them feel ready, more confident and even excited about their first day of school.

We are so grateful for our continued partnership with Rocket Mortgage!

ENSURING MORE CHILDREN HAVE A VOICE

Next month, eight volunteer trainees from our Fall Class of 2024 will be sworn-in as officers of the court! After graduation, these new CASA volunteers will be assigned to cases of children waiting for the advocacy of a CASA volunteer. Our Fall Class is our third and final class of 2024.

We are proud to report that between our Spring and Summer classes, 13 new Wayne County CASA volunteers were sworn-in!

These new CASA volunteers have already been assigned to cases, collectively advocating for 30 new children.

All CASA volunteers complete our 30-hour Pre-Service Training which includes weekly in-person sessions, court observation and online coursework.

With your support we're expanding our capacity to serve more children!

Thank you to all of our incredible volunteers for your dedication to Wayne County CASA and to children in our community!

We’d also like to thank the Third Circuit Court for supporting us. A very special thanks to the Honorable Frank Szymanski and the Honorable Sheila Ann Gibson for performing the swearing-in ceremonies.

We had a wonderful in-service training in September on Court Process and Guardianships. A huge thank you to our presenters, Attorneys Andre Mays and Rod Johnson.

Our staff and CASA volunteers learned so much from their expertise. We look forward to using the insight and knowledge in our everyday practice!
