New Parent/Caregiver Social

We can't wait to see you all on August 29! This day is a very important part of the MS back-to-school experience, so please let us know if your child has any conflicts. More details are below! As well as some to-dos!

In addition to student programming, new parents/caregivers are invited to join us for the New Parent/Caregiver Social from 1 to 2 p.m. You will have the opportunity to chat with returning parents/caregivers, administrators, and each other. 

Drumroll, please! We are excited to introduce you to our instrumental music and choral program!

Every Beaver MS student participates in our music program for the whole school year. During MS Music Matching, students try all the instruments we offer, take notes, and share feedback on their experience and preferences. Students will meet other new students, music faculty, and some teachers. Music teachers will observe students playing and singing. At the end of the process, teachers meet to match students with their instruments—based on feedback and availability in each ensemble. Students stay in their music ensemble for all of their years in middle school.

*Any student assigned the cello or tuba will be provided a second one for home so they don't have to bring it back and forth!

Before August 29, please make sure your child watches this video which introduces students to the instruments and provides a sense of how the Matching Day will go.

After music matching, students will eat lunch and engage in other orientation events and activities. Students should wear comfortable shoes for field games and bring a water bottle, their laptop, and a charger.
