On a recent Sunday morning, Sharon and Janet sat down with Volodmyr (pronounced VLO-DE-MEER), in Clarke Hall, to get to know him. We conducted the interview using a translation tool on a mobile phone.
Volodmyr has been living in the United States, and working at the church on Sundays for about one year. He hails from Drohobych, in the Lviv Region of Ukraine. In Ukraine, Volodmyr was a builder in the construction industry.
Given the difficult conditions in Ukraine with war continuing with Russia, Volodmyr and several immediate family members came to the United States, and are living as a family in Lynn.
In his spare time, Volodmyr remains concerned, and closely follows the situation in Ukraine, by engaging with friends and family on Facebook. On a lighter note, he recommends that everyone try the best food in Ukraine, which is BORSCHT....cold beet soup!
If you want to communicate with Volodmyr, we encourage you to try the translation tool, or you can use these simple phrases, which are presented phonetically below.
