The First Sunday of Lent, February 22
We are excited to welcome the Rt. Rev. Jennifer Brooke-Davidson, our diocese’s Assistant Bishop, as she visits with us on the First Sunday in Lent. Bishop Jennifer will preach, celebrate, baptize and confirm during the 10:15 service. In addition to leading us in worship, Bishop Jennifer will also spend time with the vestry, meet with our confirmands, and greet parishioners. It is going to be an exciting day!
Please note: On Sunday, February 22, the loose plate offering at both the 8 and 10:15 worship services will go to the Bishop's Discretionary Fund. Your offering helps us to care for and reach out to those who are vulnerable and in need. If you choose to write a check, you may make it payable to The Church of the Good Shepherd, but please indicate your intentions by writing "Bishop's Discretionary Fund" on the memo line. Another way to give is by using the online giving link. Thank you for your generosity!

Lenten Supper Series on Wednesday Evenings
From Famine to Fruit: A Lenten Journey of Faithful Return Under Scarcity
Famine happens. Scarcity happens.
Scripture does not treat these conditions primarily as problems to be solved, but as climates in which faithfulness is practiced.
This does not mean scarcity is good, inevitable, or to be accepted as just.
It means that faithfulness is not suspended while we labor to change it.
Lent does not promise relief from scarcity.
It teaches a way of return that allows trust, presence, and love to endure within it.
Join us this Lent on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 PM in Shepherd's Hall for an experience of authentic community and open-hearted reflection, over a grace-filled potluck meal. For next Wednesday's dinner (Feb 25th), please sign up here.

Stations of the Cross, Fridays at 12 Noon
On Fridays in Lent, Richard Netherby will once again lead walking meditations through the Stations of the Cross. All those interested in deepening their experience of this Holy Season are invited to join him in the sanctuary at noon each week for prayer and the silent contemplation of the Passion. These meditative walks will begin this Friday, February 20th. If you would like to participate, please plan to enter the church through the front door (note that the Parish Office is closed on Fridays).

Holy Week Concert, March 29
Please join us on Sunday March 29 at 4pm for a special musical offering for Holy Week, presented by the Lyricosa Quartet.
The Seven Last Words of Christ, by Franz Joseph Haydn, was commissioned in 1786 by the priest Don José Sáenz de Santa María for the Good Friday service at Oratorio de la Santa Cueva in Cádiz, Spain. Originally composed for string orchestra, Haydn himself arranged it for string quartet the following year. He was faced with the challenge of writing a musical meditation on each of the seven words, each about ten-minutes long. These seven movements, framed by a solemn introduction at the beginning and the terrifying earthquake movement at the end, hold a unique place in the string quartet literature.

Welcoming Our New Vestry Members
Please join us in welcoming five parishioners who have committed their time and leadership to the governance of our church. Vestry elections were held during our Annual Meeting on February 1, and the 2026 Vestry Installation was held on February 15 during the 10:15 service.
We are grateful to Katie Chimenti, Anne Doster, James Joslin, and Tara Sumanaseni for beginning their three-year terms of service. Additionally, Jason Hingerton has been elected to fill an unexpired two-year term through 2028. We look forward to the unique perspectives and dedication each of these leaders will bring to our community.
As we welcome new faces, we also want to offer our thanks to our retiring Vestry members: Ed Gavin, Esther Hall, David Howard, and Gregg Knepley. Their steady leadership and faithful service over the past few years have been a blessing to the Church of the Good Shepherd. We are grateful for the many ways they have strengthened our parish during their time on the Vestry.
