Artifacts of Nature by Mary Donahue
TSC Fine Art Gallery
Select dates through December 2, 2026
| For Donahue, Artifacts of Nature is a journey into the ways early humans looked to nature for inspiration, meaning, and survival. The exhibition grew from her lifelong interest in ancient art and archaeology, as well as her travels to places around the world where she studied the art and artifacts of early civilizations. | | | |
“I’ve always liked drawing people since I was 12 years old,” local artist Beverly Harding said. “I started drawing faces out of magazines. If my friends recognized who someone was, then I felt like I captured the person’s likeness. That’s what started my love for art.”
Harding grew up in Springfield, Oregon, in the 1960s as an identical twin. “We did everything the same and together, even dressed alike. But my sister had no interest in art. Without a scholarship, we couldn’t afford college. So, my sister and I went to beauty school and opened our own beauty salon. We ran it for 10 years, until I got married to a Navy pilot and moved away.”
