The March 26-28 Erma Bombeck Writers’ Workshop is sold out, but we have plenty of seats in the virtual classroom.

Erma Home Schooling brings all the heart, humor and creative inspiration of the in-person workshop to your screen. From the comfort of home, you'll enjoy our popular keynote talks and four exclusive humor-writing workshops, thoughtfully designed for the virtual experience.

But hurry! The $175 early bird rate expires after March 9, when the ticket will be $199.

(Please note that this package does not include access to workshops facilitated at the in-person Erma Bombeck Writers' Workshop.)

Comedy is a craft, and like any craft, it can be learned. Award-winning humor writer Wendi Aarons will offer tips and tricks for making your writing funnier.

Sometimes being honest is the bravest thing you can do. But when done right? It can be the funniest. New York-based writer and comedian Brandon Follick will help writers transform even the most ordinary experiences into comedy that makes readers laugh and feel less alone.

Inspired by insights from her memoir, Patricia Wynn Brown will invite writers to explore how humor can be a powerful force for transformation and healing.

Humor is often conveyed in the “Rule of Threes.“ It guides everything from knock-knock jokes to Erma Bombeck. Prolific author and creative writing professor Lori Jakiela will show writers how to harness that power for humor writing.

In a World That Could Use More Laughter,

Your Words Matter

As Erma Bombeck famously said, “When humor goes, there goes civilization.”

If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to invest in your writing, creativity and comedic chops, this is it.

You can access the live-streamed keynotes and special sessions March 26-28, 2026, or listen to the recordings later at your convenience. The recordings will be available for at least one year.

Join us at Erma Home Schooling, and let’s laugh and learn together.
