Golden Scots 2024

It was a wonderful celebration as we gathered for our 30th annual Golden Scots Reunion on September 14! This is an annual event for HPHS alumni who graduated at least 50 years ago.

HPHS Alumni from the classes of 1941-1974 enjoyed high school tours, fellowship, lunch, and a program led by Alumni Association Board President, Alan Rose '06. Alumni heard a district update from HPISD Superintendent, Dr. Mike Rockwood and enjoyed a performance by the HPHS twirlers, senior Karianne Grove-Collins

and junior Mimi Tafel.

We appreciate all that attended and we missed those who could not join us this year. Thank you to the wonderful volunteers that make this event run so smoothly each year!

Once a Scot, Always a Scot!

Lead for Tomorow Endowment Campaign

Lead for Tomorrow (LFT) Endowment Campaign Committee, HPEF Board and HPISD Trustees honor Garry Weber '54.

The Lead for Tomorrow campaign recognized Garry Weber '54 during halftime on September 27 for his lead gift to the campaign of $7 million. Weber’s support has been instrumental to the success of this campaign, and the impact he is making for future generations of Scots is immeasurable. The HP Education Foundation honored him with the naming of the Garry Weber Indoor Practice Facility and the Garry Weber Commons at Highland Park High School!

At halftime on Friday, September 20, the Lead for Tomorrow campaign celebrated the dedication of the Randy Allen Field at Highlander Stadium. We are grateful to the donors who made this naming possible through their generous support of this endowment campaign. Thank you to Noble Nash '81 for his leadership in making this dedication happen!

Thank you to the donors below who committed to establishing a legacy fund to support the naming of the field in honor of Randy Allen!

Blast from the Past

Flashback to the first ever Golden Scots reunion in 1994!

This article in the Park Cities People in May of 1994 stated "They called them the Golden Scots but as one alum pointed out, they should be called the Golden Highlanders, which was the school's nickname until after World War II".
