THIS SUNDAY

Sunday, September 13, 2026

This is it - our summer worship season is over, and our Fall Kickoff Sunday is here! This will be a busy and inspiring service of worship as we take Communion together, Beth Polen and our choir return with joyful voices and we gather outside for our annual church photo - AND coffee, cookies and fellowship afterwards. Pastor Mary Jo will offer a special Kickoff Sunday message and Julie Smith and the Sunday School team will lead our young ones through their part of our Sunday celebration.

No matter if you consider yourself merely a friend of the church, or just a visitor to the church, or if you are a steadfast member of the church with your own reserved pew, we hope you will be here this special Sunday to be in our service and in our photo afterwards!

Our readings this Sunday are:

Psalm 114

Matthew 18: 21 - 35

Our Weekly Activities

Men's Prayer Breakfast

Most Wednesdays

Office and Custodial Volunteers Needed!

Due to the recent resignation of our Administrator, our new office hours, for the time being, will be Tuesday to Friday, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

During these reduced hours, we will need to staff the office with volunteers.

We will also need volunteers to help maintain and clean our beloved church for the next few transitional weeks.

If you are able to help in either of these roles, for even a limited time, please leave a message on the church phone or email Pastor Mary Jo.

And a huge thank you to everyone who has stepped up to help so far!

A Prayer for First Responders

Dear God, keep our first responders safe in every situation. Give Your angels charge concerning them, to guard them in all their ways (Psalm 91:11). Show Yourself strong on their behalf and be their refuge and fortress in times of danger. Hide them in the shadow of Your wings and shower them with your mercy; let Your faithfulness be their shield and rampart (see Psalm 91:14-16). AMEN.

Finding Light in the Darkness of 9/11

This is From the Archives, where we present something from our extensive collection of archival photos, records and all manner of materials dating back to when the church was First Methodist Episcopal, to First Methodist, to Church of the Savior, to St. Paul's to Crossroads.

We're back to a St Paul's archive item this week, focusing on one of our most stalwart members and faithful Sunday morning churchgoers, Jim Lindesmith.

Or maybe you know him better as Coach Lindesmith.

This is a Repository article from Sunday, December 16, 2001 - now 25 years ago - about Jim's Monday night basketball program for K-4th graders at the St Paul's gym.

Someone at St Paul's also put together a collage of photos of the various kids playing and enjoying fellowship along with the newspaper headline and photo.

Next time you see Jim in his reserved pew on Sunday morning, you can do two things. One, ask him for basketball tips and two, wish him a happy birthday - his birthday is Thursday, September 17!
