Hello Ogden Families!

Happy May to everyone! Please remember Teacher Appreciation Week is next week, May 6 - 10. The Honor Committee has worked hard to plan special treats for the teachers throughout the week. Please be sure to participate and remind your children to bring personalized notes for their teachers next Wednesday, May 8th.

The PTC is still in need of volunteers for the 2024-2025 school year. There are still many opportunities available. We want to be able to offer Marla's Lunch and hold our longest-running fundraiser, Red Sled, but we need chairs to run these committees. Your help is so needed and appreciated by the entire Ogden community. Please click HERE for a list of open positions. If you have any questions, please let us know!

Book Fair Recap &Teacher Wish Lists

The book fair at our open house was a success! We sold $5,600 worth of books, and earned 40% of that back as book credit money to buy Anderson's Bookshop books for classrooms and birthday books for Ogden students. Each book fair we hold also qualifies us for a complimentary in-person author visit. This year with our two book fairs we were able to host two authors: Ashely Belote (for grades K-3) and Nathan Hale (for grades 4-6).

Please take a look at the books on teacher wish lists left over from the book fair. There are still a few books left teachers would love for their classrooms...another great way to celebrate the upcoming Teacher Appreciation Week too.

Girl Scouts Book Drive

The Ogden 5th Grade Girl Scout troop is building and decorating a bookshelf to create a little library for the patrons of the Community Park District of La Grange Park for their service project.

The troop is also having a book drive to collect any gently used books for all ages to fill the shelves.

There are collection boxes located in the main entrance vestibule at Ogden as well as the LRC. We will be collecting books through the end of May. Thank you for your support as the girls help set up the little library!

Playground Renovation Fundraising

Did you know…

  • The current playground, at nearly 25 years old, is the oldest in District 102 and lacks certain accessibility features of more recently constructed playgrounds.
  • Our outside space is used by 600 students daily and is the smallest amount of outdoor play space per student in the district.
  • Playground equipment and installation can cost between $150,000 and $400,000.

The Ogden PTC Playground Renovation Committee is working hard on planning some awesome enhancements to our playground space, but we need your help to make the plan a reality!

Fundraising for the project has officially begun!

Click HERE for more information and to donate today.

The first phase of the planning has started, and we need approximately $150,000 for Phase I completion. It is our hope to raise enough funds by January 2025 for the beginning steps of Phase I to occur in 2025, subject to achievement of fundraising goals and District input and approval.
