Pastor Trudy's Message

Bread that gives life. Jesus is human. The leaders in the community remind Jesus that they know his parents. What is he talking about-being bread that came down from heaven? We will explore how Jesus bridges the space between the earthly and the heavenly... between secular and holy... between life and death.

Holy God, You are Life and Abundance and through Jesus, invite us to be a part of it. Send us into the world to share this in whatever ways we can. In Jesus' name, Amen.

What is the plan for support for ministries without a vicar?

Lower than budgeted expenses have helped us to stay in check most of the year, but in the last couple of months we have fallen slightly behind on our giving. Our budget year ends August 31. Help us finish strong with an end of year gift. Thank you!

• Reignite the prayer of the church. By your Spirit, root your church around the globe in prayer and spiritual practices.
• We pray for trees that offer shade and for our fellow creatures that depend on the trees for shelter and food. Sustain the work of all who advocate for forests and wilderness areas.
• Guide our leaders and nations with a spirit of justice and mercy. Let no evil come out of our mouths, but rather let us extend grace. We pray for our enemies.
• Sustain feeding ministries and organizations such as ELCA World Hunger and our local food pantries. We work and pray for a day when hunger is no more.
• We pray for this congregation and for all who are gathered. Be present among anyone who cannot be with us today. Be with all who are hurting, grieving, or ill, especially John Yeo and Barb Ziah.
• We remember the saints who have gone before us in faith, especially Tom Bastian, John Anderson, Anne Ingold, and Bob Giertz. Trusting in the promise of the resurrection, we find hope in your communion of saints of all times and all places.

We lift up these prayers to you, gracious God. Receive them into your holy keeping.

Amen.
