August 2022 ISSUE: Bronco Family Newsletter
Greetings Bronco families!

We hope you and your students are finding some time to rest, relax, and rejuvenate before the start of the Fall semester begins in late August. Cal Poly Pomona is excited to welcome folks back to campus this month! Read through this month's issue of the newsletter to learn more about a move-in lounge you can attend, the new Bronco Family Fall Festival Day, how to register for the first workshop in our We Are First workshop series, and important dates and deadlines!
We Are First: First In The Family Workshop Series: RSVP NOW!
Come join us for this inaugural series of workshops designed specifically for parents, family members, and supporters of Cal Poly Pomona students who are the first in their family to attend college. All of these workshops will be FREE, offered in-person and virtually, and include Spanish language translation services.

The first workshop will occur on Saturday, August 27th from 2pm - 4pm in the Bronco Student Center and on zoom!

You’ll learn more about what it means to be a first-generation student, how our campus helps our students gain more access and equity through faculty/staff mentorship, and connect with other families that are starting on this same journey.

Family and Friends Lounge at Move-in!
Is your student living on campus this year? Cal Poly Pomona is hosting a Family and Friends Lounge at Move-in! Take a break and learn about the different resources CPP will offer you and your student throughout their time at CPP! You and your family can also join us for light refreshments, snacks, and a cool place to relax during move in.

The lounge will be open to all on August 21, 22, 23, and 24th from
10am - noon and 1pm - 3pm in Centerpointe Dinning Hall.

We hope to see you there!

New Event Date: Bronco Family Fall Harvest
Oct. 12th, 2022
You spoke and we listened. Our Fall Family Harvest has been rescheduled to Wednesday, October 12th from 6pm - 8pm! Bronco Family Engagement and the Alumni Network are excited to host a Fall Harvest for students and families to enjoy an evening of food, music, activities, and pumpkin picking!

Registration for this free event will be available in September.
For now, grab your calendars and save the date for our Fall Family Harvest!

While we are not able to schedule this event on a weekend, we understand families are seeking alternative opportunities to engage. If you are unavailable to attend this event, Cal Poly Pomona hosts a ticketed low-cost Pumpkin Patch throughout the entire month of October that you may consider attending with your student and family.
