My dear parishioners,

I feel a sense of joy and happiness to see young people and new faces in the pews. During the month of August alone, we welcomed 16 new families registered as members of the Parish. On any given day during the week, I find college students attending the daily Mass and staying back after to pray in Church. Let me introduce the names of those new families, and let us offer the most welcoming and faith-filled community for our young and new brothers and sisters so we can together worship God and serve others in our faith.

Become a Guardian of the Eucharist

Eucharistic Adoration if offered Monday-Friday from 12:45-1:30 p.m. and Wednesday evenings from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Adoration Volunteers help maintain a peaceful, prayerful environment where others can experience the Lord’s presence in a special way. A guardian of the Eucharist is a Catholic volunteer who commits to praying before the Blessed Sacrament during Eucharistic Adoration to ensure it is never left alone. Becoming Catholic

Curious about the Catholic faith? Whether you're exploring Christianity, thinking about becoming Catholic, or looking to complete your sacraments, the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is a welcoming place to ask questions, learn about the Church, and grow in faith. Those who continue the journey will prepare to receive the sacraments at the Easter Vigil on March 27, 2027.

Weekly sessions begin this Sunday, September 13 in O'Hagan Parish Hall.

K-12 Faith Formation & Sacramental Prep

Registration for our 2026–2027 Faith Formation Program is now open for students in Kindergarten through Grade 12, including those preparing for the Sacraments.

Classes will be held Sundays from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., beginning next Sunday, September 20.

Our Faith Formation Program includes Sacramental Preparation for parish children preparing to receive First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, as well as Confirmation Preparation for eligible youth. The Confirmation Mass is scheduled for Sunday, April 25, and First Holy Communion Masses will be celebrated on Sunday, May 2.

Important Confirmation Update: The Archdiocese is transitioning to sixth grade as the typical age for receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. As part of this transition, students in Grades 8, 9, and 10 who are eligible will participate in Confirmation preparation during this program year.

Atlanta Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women

The 70th Annual Convention of the Atlanta Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women (AACCW) will be held at Christ Our Hope Catholic Church.

All women of the parish are welcome and encouraged to attend!

Saturday, October 3, 9:00 a.m. Blessing of the Animals: Bring your beloved pets to our pet blessing on Sacred Heart Way as we thank God for the joy, companionship, and love they bring into our lives. All pets are welcome! Join us for a brief prayer and blessing of our furry, feathered, and four-legged companions. Please bring pets safely leashed or appropriately secured.

Sunday, October 4: Join members of our Council of Catholic Women to pray the Stations with Mary’s Way of the Cross in the church following the 8:00 a.m. Mass.

Month of the Rosary: October is the Month of the Rosary because the feast day of Our Lady of the Rosary falls on October 7. All are welcome to gather with our Knights of Columbus to pray the rosary after every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. Mass in the month of October.

Knights of Columbus

Last weekend, the Basilica Knights of Columbus hosted two events. On Saturday morning, we set up in front of the church to sell water, coffee, and donuts to the crowds watching the DragonCon parade. We had many repeat customers who had patronized our sale for years running. Then on Sunday morning, we inaugurated the coffee and donuts social after the 8 am and 10 am Masses. The lure of free coffee and donuts inspired many to linger after Mass to chat with Fr. Tri and fellowship with each other. This was a great start to realizing Fr. Tri's desire to foster more interaction among parishioners and the clergy.

Inspired to get involved with the Knights of Columbus? We are recruiting men to join us in the many good works we perform for the parish and the community at large. If you (or a family member) is sick, homebound, or in the hospital and would like to receive Holy Communion or the Anointing of the Sick, please contact the parish office directly at 404-522-6800.

Mass Intentions

A mass intention is a specific request for a Mass to be celebrated for a particular person or purpose.

Common reasons for a mass intention include:

For the deceased: To pray for the repose of the soul of a loved one who has died, believing that these prayers can help them on their journey to heaven.

For the living: To pray for the healing of a sick person, to offer thanks, or for other personal needs and concerns.

For special occasions: To commemorate an event like a wedding anniversary, birthday, or other significant life moment.

If you would like to schedule a Mass Intention, click on Request Mass Intention to view available dates and schedule your Mass Intention online. Masses that show in green are available to schedule. The schedule is open four months in advance.

Altar Flowers

Flowers may be ordered in memory or in honor of a loved one. The arrangement will be displayed at the altar from the Saturday Vigil Mass through the 5:00 pm Mass on Sunday. If no other events require special flower arrangements, the flowers will remain during the week. The intention for the flowers will be listed in the bulletin. Two arrangements are available each week at the cost of $100.00 each. (You may purchase one or both arrangements). Names will be listed in the bulletin.

Exposition of the Eucharist

Weekly Adoration of the Eucharist is offered on Tuesdays following the 12:10 p.m. Mass from 12:45- 3:00 p.m. in the Marist Chapel.

Please note: beginning in September, Adoration will be offered Monday through Friday from 12:30 p.m. -1:30 p.m, and Wednesday evenings from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
